Inconveniencing folks for the sake of safety IS okay and should be encouraged.

Police say Cody J. Saylor, 28, fired a real gun during the Sept. 15 training session at Threat Assessment & Tactical Solutions Group in Stroudsburg instead of the assigned simunition gun, a nonlethal training weapon similar to a paint gun. Darin McMahon, 46, a businessman in the Delmarva region of Delaware, was hit and paralyzed from the neck down.

When you play dangerous games (https://tatstraining.com/combat-games/) you get bad results.

A company that advertises "combat games" with sims isn't doing anyone any favors. I hope they are sued out of business.

Jesus christ.

Happened back in September and they charged him back in January. Already discussed here:

We had someone shot locally during a privately conducted "active shooter" training session held by a "training" company whose instructors have dubious (and I'm being generous with that descriptor) qualifications, when a live AR-15 found it's way in to the mix. It somehow stayed out of the news and was not fatal. If anyone vetted this group, they would never sign up for a "class".

Such epic tomfuckery, and needless damage and loss.

This is the same instructor that had students do this "drill" :

I took two classes with them and everything was fine but after seeing this I decided not to go back ever.

Woah. People actually AGREE and PAY to participate.

What The Blue Fuck was that? Beyond that, I am left speechless after watching that video.

Well, if that's the same group involved in the OP, then it was only a matter of time before something like this happened. It is a damn shame a man is now a quadriplegic because of stupidity. Any course I'm enrolled in sets up a "drill" like that, my gear gets packed and I hit the road. I put the screeching halt to something just about as egregious several years ago that a non FI SWAT LT wanted to do. He tried to pull rank and had to be not so subtly reminded that the FI trumped all rank on the range. It is astounding to me how many people will sign up for a class and just take the Instructor's word that they are super secret awesome. Frankly, I'm surprised more people arent injured or killed in these charlatan's "classes"

Problem is, when non gun folks look up training on the BookFace. That is what they find.
Makes us all look 'tarded.

Even tier one units do pre-sim patdowns for a reason. Safe areas and checks are there for a reason.

At least they're upfront about it. 49467That's the kind of bullshit bravado that spews from wannabe tactical gurus. I attended s class years ago that was made up of such cadre. The company had more "adjunct" instructors than you could shake a stick at. The primary requirement to be certified was to have attended a bunch of classes hosted by the "guru" and basically worship him. Nothing patently unsafe at the course, but the company went on my NFE list for a host of reasons. I typically dont bad mouth other trainers, but if they are unsafe I let that be known loud and proud. Any potential instructor I seek to train with who won't present, up front, a detailed and verifiable resume/CV, gets a hard pass.

I wasn't. It was the same company, but I don't think Gary or Jared were present at the FoF class.

WWII re-enactors literally inspect the other side's guns and "ammo." At least in the one I was in at Camp Mabry.
