I'm a novice when it comes to revolvers.

Went to the gun show today in search of a S&W 10 or 13 in 3". I found a 10 in 2". It seemed fairly heavy. Across the aisle, though, was one that the vendor represented as a 3" 36. It seemed more svelte and I liked it, but there was a readily visible, fairly large spot of untreated rust in the bore and heavy pitting on the left side of the barrel. In researching the 36, though, I see it was made in 5 shot capacity. This revolver was a 6 shot. So, I'm kinda lost on what I was looking at - a blue, 3" barrel (not a pencil barrel), 6 shot S&W that seemed more svelte and lighter than a model 10. Any ideas?

Happy shooting, Jerry

The six shot version of the M36 is the M30 in .32 S&W

Yes. There was a 30 with round butt and 31 with square.
