Got my mags today but not in time for my range trip. Magazine body looks same as 15 round aside from two extra witness holes. Baseplate sticks out a tiny bit more, but barely noticeable. Follower design is significantly different. Probably shorter to allow more round to fit in the tube before bottoming out. Also, it engage the slide lock lever more positively and empty magazines eject much more forcefully from the grip. Will try to take pictures tomorrow to compare.

I'm curious to see how these work out in terms of reliability. HK mags are usually 100%, but I am slightly skeptical that they can just magically add two more rounds in the same footprint without giving something up.

Others have been skeptical for years as to why HK couldn’t fit 17 cartridges in the same size magazine that other manufacturers get 17 cartridges into. :)

I just bought some HK 17 rounders, and plan to try the spring and follower in a P2000 magazine. Seems like 15 should fit in there with a lot more margin than 15 in the mags for the 43X/48.

Yes I have. 15 will fit in the mag but seating on a closed slide is iffy. 14 fits easily and is what I run in my P2000 for carry.

I missed this earlier. Explains why they blew out a bunch of the 15-round mags on Black Friday. I thought I was rockin' picking up four for $99.

Not yet, but they can't be too far behind for the P30sk/VP9sk. If the 17's are flush fit like the current 15's, it's just a matter of setting the new mag bodies (I imagine with 17 indicator hole though I haven't looked up close to see) and springs/followers into the current up and running 'sk' production line. H&K hates us enough to milk us for the new ones too.. ;)

I want to experiment with carrying a P30 17 round magazine as primary in the P2000. The P2000 standard capacity 13 round magazine with the finger ledge base plate is near the size of a regular P30 magazine, and 17+1 seems better than 13+1!

I found out over the weekend there's a +5 adapter for the 15rd p30/VP9 mags. I wonder if it works on the 17s as well? If so and if it's reliable, that sure would be nifty...

I asked HKCS about what parts were needed to convert my 15s to 17s. (Hoping for just the follower and spring.) Rep told me everything but the base plate. I suspect he was just looking at p/n lists.

I just ordered a couple 17s and a 20 factory mag. And some more X-Grip adaptors for the USPc. Will have to Mr. Potatohead everything when it all gets here.

I suspect he was just looking at p/n lists.I'm told that the locking plate was modified for the follower. The magazine body is just for the extra witness hole.

I just need the followers for my mags, but H&K CS told me they weren't selling them individually yet. Didn't ask for a timetable, guess I should follow-up with that.

Last I talked to H&K CS, they had no plans to sell the followers by themselves. I can very easily fit 27 rounds into the 20 round tube with a TF +5, in a 15 round tube with a TF +5, I can squeeze in 22, but it's tight, enough that I'm considering just running 21s for ease of slide forward reloads, though interestingly, what bullet I have in makes a difference, the flat points/hollowpoints don't sit quite as high as the round nose, and are thus distinctly easier to seat.
