What a great concept! Make the whole rimfire can from titanium, dip the whole thing when it gets dirty.

Sounded great too.

Hrmm... If one was wanting to buy a 22 can, what should host should one buy for that can?

Step 3: die from exposure to lead acetate :p

I just ordered a Nyx, but I'll probably continue to use my stardard cleaning procedure of knocking the big clumps off the baffles and then shooting another 500-1k.

I think... that I might have a 10/22 takedown that needs 4 baffles in the accessory pocket of the discrete bag...

It’s not hard to deal with, just be very careful, wear gloves, go slow, and I usually neutralize the lead acetate with table salt between putting it away and dropping it off at a place that accept hazmat.

I’d do a Ruger MkIV and a S&W 15/22.

I have a Ruger MK3 22/45 and Ruger can that goes on every camping trip.

Also, just put your baffles on a bent coat hanger, submerge, and then rinse the fuck out of that when you are done, let it dry, and then hit the baffles with the silicone based brake fluid (https://amzn.to/2UYTcqx) to resist hard caking of carbon and reassemble.

Agreed. Two of my rimfire cans fit on a M&P 15-22 and a Ruger MKIV 22/45. Both are quite fun.

And a suppressed CZ-455. it's a lot of fun as a rimfire trainer.

I'm a big fan of the MkIV:

48870

I'd also recommend some type of .22 bolt gun. Ruger, Tikka, an CZ all make excellent factory threaded hosts.

The lead acetate is pretty hazardous in aqueous solution. The (careful) addition of sulfuric acid will form lead sulfate which is an insoluble solid and much safer as it is not readily absorbed through skin or mucous membranes. You can add sulfuric acid until precipitate stops forming and then neutralize with sodium hydroxide or a similar base.

The equation is: H2SO4 + 2 Pb(C2H3O2) = Pb2SO4 + 2 C2H4O2

I geek out on chemistry almost as much as I geek out on material science.

I use this HF tumbler (with a coupon its even cheaper):
https://www.harborfreight.com/3-lb-rotary-rock-tumbler-67631.html

+ ~1lb steel pins + dove soap + lemishine + hot water

Works well with the steel baffles in the Mask. No manual labor and death chemicals.
