Saw this on FB. Two bucks had become locked together and the officer separates them from a distance using his patrol shotgun. The video is credited to Cripple Creek Taxidermy out of Alberta, CA.

Good shooting, good video, and the inner critter-lover in me appreciated the officer took his time and tried -- apparently successfully -- for a non-injuring or killing shot.

Do we think he used a slug?

Talk about finding oneself on the horns antlers of a dilemma.

That was pretty epic, the patience of the officer was commendable from my POV. I'd buy that guy a beer, hell of a story.

That was great! The closest I came to saving a wild animal was pulling a stuck yogurt cup off the head of a pissed off skunk.

You're a braver man than I.

I work as a security guard and one night after doing my first round of checks I stopped between a couple empty warehouses on the property to take a leak. It's pitch black and I'm mid stream when this chain-link gate over a warehouse roll up door starts shaking. I get done and flip on the alley light on the patrol vehicle and it was a skunk trapped between the door and the gate maybe 15 feet from where I was. I wished him luck and found someplace else to be.
