I think some on the forum have been waiting for a rifle like this. I've got the 7.62x39, and it's a super handy little rifle. Now I wish it was in 6.5 Grendel.

Whew! Last Summer I almost bought a .300 BO model of this but . . . seems like the perfect medium game chambering for it.

We discussed it in the Down the Practical Hole (https://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?37097-Down-the-Practical-Hole) thread, but there hasn't been a dedicated discussion for it, I don't think.

Since writing the "Practical" series, I wound up with a 6.5 Grendel upper. I haven't had a chance to test it yet. I'm very tempted with the American Ranch in 6.5G as I still want to play with the bolt rifle concept.

It looks like the stock is longer than what you were looking for, but I think the compact stocks from the 350 Legend guns would fit this rifle. Perhaps Ruger would sell them separately?

There have been people who've cut down the factory stock on the Youtubes. I haven't chopped my sample yet.

I'm curious which upper you wound up with!

It's nothing spectacular. It's a used Bear Creek Arsenal that a former colleague was selling. I topped it with a 1-8 Strike Eagle.

I wish to hell that Ruger would offer the compact stock on more models.

Same here. Of course, it's very practical to set the stock on my AR to the length I want. ;)

I wish they'd use use the 10/22 stock with the interchangeable pull/comb height inserts for the Ruger Americans.
