Anyone know what mount would be compatible with the Scalar Works 1.93 set up for the Aimpoint Magnifier 3X or 6X? Thanks.

Any reason not to go with the Scalarworks mount?

Also, 1.93 is higher than lower 1/3. 1.57 is lower 1/3 height.

Thanks. I think that came across garbled. I just ordered the 1.93 mount / Comp M5 combo (missed signature from USPS so gotta chase that now). Was considering adding a magnifier but don't see that as an option for Scalarworks. Going with another vendor and playing mix and match concerned me that something may not line up.

Scalarworks does have a magnifier mount. I haven’t personally used it and it’s relatively new so I haven’t seen much about it, but based on the other products I’ve used from them I’d think it’s your best bet.

I really like the Unity Tactical FAST Mounts since the magnifier flips down instead of to the side, but it isn’t compatible with the Scalarworks mount you have.

Perfect. Thanks my friend. I completely missed that.

I have found that my 1.93" mounted red dots to work fine with my lower 1/3 Eotech G33 magnifier. The small amount of difference in height doesn't seem to be an issue when looking through the magnifier.

1.57 is lower 1/3 height.

All my rifle RDS mounts have been Larue lower 1/3. They are all 1.69" from top of rail to the optical centerline.

Scalarworks mounts come in three heights: 1.42", 1.57", 1.93". They consider the 1.42" to be absolute co-witness and the 1.57" to be lower third.

They're either measuring from a different datum than everyone else (Larue, MI, Bobro, etc, etc) or their idea of lower 1/3 is different than everyone elses and much closer to absolute.

Unfortunately these measurements don't seem to be standardized.

Spuhr Micro mounts as an additional data point:
Absolute co-witness: 38mm / 1.50"
Lower third: 42mm / 1.65"

For Aimpoint's mounts, their absolute co-witness is at 39mm / 1.54"

Unfortunately these measurements don't seem to be standardized.

They aren't, as "lower 1/3" isn't a standardized height.

A couple more data points;

Geissele absolute: 1.41"
Geissele lower 1/3: 1.54"

Trijicon absolute: 1.53"
Trijicon lower 1/3: 1.66"

That part I can understand. But why can different manufacturers not even agree on what absolute co-witness is? Shouldn't this be defined clearly by some AR-15 technical spec?

Scalarworks: 36 mm
Aimpoint: 39 mm
Spuhr: 38 mm
Geissele: 36 mm
Trijicon absolute: 39 mm

Nope, which is the reason this thread exists in the first place. It makes it a real pain to try to mix and match mounts from different manufacturers.
