That story is amazing, well worth the read.
It's going to be a HOT summer gang. Be careful everyone.

FredM and I were on our way to a Defoor carbine class and an SUV of gangster looking types pulled alongside us and tried to make eye contact and paced us for a few blocks. This was near Norfolk in VA Beach. We made a point of not escalating. We were armed to the teeth.

I'm a LEO in the city of Norfolk and i'm VERY familiar with that intersection. It sits smack dab in the middle of 3 large public housing communities and a neighborhood known to consistently be one of the worst in the state(known as huntersville). Its also only a stones throw from downtown and the restaurant district. I wish I could say that what happened surprises me..... It doesn't. Random violence is a daily occurence in that area

I know that area as well. It's a dump. I had the displeasure of going to high school close by (Booker T). My grandfather owned a gas station/garage close to there for 50+ years. His garage was broken into very frequently, he had one overnight guard dog shot, and he was robbed at knife point (luckily he was armed).

Sounds like several areas of STL city (1st, 8th, and 6th Precincts spring immediately to mind....). Random violence is very common place in those areas, and the "knockout game" has become extremely popular among the young gang bangers. In one of the aforementioned bad areas, the Mayor was driving through the area with his police escort (surprise, surprise) and stumbled over a victim of such an attack.

I have a glass deductible for a reason. Punk breaks my window, I'm burning rubber to get out of the area. Red lights don't matter, just floor it and get out of danger.

On a related note, if you pull up behind someone at a red light, don't creep right up to their bumper. Leave enough room to maneuver around them if something bad happens.

On a relevant note, I just received an email that included a video of a guy taking a beating and being stripped in Baltimore. My apologies in advance if this is a dupe.

You know how every now and then on a nature show you're hoping to see the critter that kills the cute fuzzy critters for food pick a fight with a honey badger?

Picking a fight with Fred when he's got an AR within reach is as smart as trying to head-butt a running chainsaw.

I love "Chickens coming home to roost stories"

Now I realize it is an assumption, but it is a pretty safe assumption that Mrs Washington as well as the two crime victims are all staunch believers in the pseudo-utopian, pseudo-social justice, kumbia, anti-gun/self defense, philosophy that it seems most of the media believes in. Now, they have been bitten by the very elements of society that they have promoted and encouraged. Not only are they in total shock that there much loved "urban youth" would do such a terrible thing, but they are in equal shock big brother wasn't there to save them and that a cop was honest enough to tell them the absolute truth - there is nothing they can do about it. It must be a total shock to them that their false gods have failed them, but I would be willing to bet that even this brush with death will not deter them from seeking to remove firearms from the law abiding.

Thankfully, but judging from the readers comments, the good people of Norfolk are giving this editor a solid tongue lashing. I'm sure it will fall on deaf ears however.
