Looks like a sexy, Nessmuk style knife.

The Nessmuk is pretty much based on a "skinner". I had my buddy Ray Kirk, (now Master Smith, then Journeyman), forge me a Nessmuk style blade with 52100 and Osage Orange.

"Need" has rarely factored into my knife purchases.

It's some old bois d'arc he picked up somewhere along the way. Ray (https://rakerknives.com/rksite/) is a Cherokee out of Oklahoma and used to teach welding to students at a school on a Res out there. One of the really good guys and someone I've called friend for years.

Mostly he makes practical knives but his art knives (and tomahawks) are things of beauty.

Here's a take on a Scagel he made for me years ago. Also forged 52100 (and stag this time).

I'm not a knife guy, but I like the ESEE PR4 that I bought last fall. My problem is that even when I go camping, I don't need to cut much. Maybe I'm doing it wrong...

Why do you think all these folks with nice knives spend so much time slicing phone book paper? ;)

It does for me, if I carry the knife I lose the knife... :(

That, and the wife says "Oooh, pretty! I need it!"
