I can't remember where I read this but it said that you can't use a steel magwell extension on a carry optic division gun. It didn't say anything about an aluminum one though. Any input?

No add on exterior mag wells in CO.

May be mistaken, but GSSF allows aluminum or plastic mag wells as there is no reloading required.

As has been mentioned, no add-on magwells of any kind allowed in USPSA CO

IDPA CO does allow magwells, and they make no mention of material. So long as your pistol makes weight (45 oz) and fits in the ESP box, any magwell is fine.
