Trying to mount my 508T on my Gen5 G19. The included Holosun screws are just a bit too long, resulting in the back of the MOS plate getting wedged up so it’s not flush with the slide at the rear. I was thinking about just filing off the ends of the screws using an EZ-Lap medium diamond hone like I use on front Glock sights.
Ok way to do this?
Should I apply cold blue to the ends of the screw after filing down?
Thanks,

I use a belt grinder as it's much faster... a Dremel tool also works just fine. Just make sure you know when to stop.

Thanks. What do you use to touch up the ends of the screws?

Thanks. What do you use to touch up the ends of the screws?Use your diamond stones for that. Or a file.

I meant like cold blueing, paint pen, etc.

I meant like cold blueing, paint pen, etc.I've never bothered but sure, cold blue is probably a good idea.

Some wiring pliers have a machine screw cutter. Using that ensures that the threads get chased after the cut is made.

Have you looked for the next shorter length in McMaster Carr or MSC?
