View Full Version : Will Ameriglo GL-429s fit a G43X/G48/G43?

I have an RMR on my G43X.
I've determined that with this set-up, I really only need a sight about .370" high...maybe .380".
So far, everything is too low (mostly .285" or lower) or too high (over .400").

The Ameriglos are .394", so if they won't stick out on the sides, I'll use them.
However, I haven't been able to determine if they'll fit--Ameriglo says "for all glocks EXCEPT the G42 and G43".

Most companies that do optic cuts for the RMR and G43X/G48 have sights they use, but most seem to block a lot of the lens (e.g., the Suarez sights are .420").

I have GL429’s on my Glock 48 with an optic, specifically a Holosun currently. I don’t know what’s the deal with the 48/43X sight compatibility, it’s a fairly nebulous topic and I don’t have good experience using any full size Glock sight combo on my 48. I’m thinking of getting the slightly taller suppressor sights “GL470” instead. I think the sights sit way too low in the optic window with either a Trijicon or Holosun.

I can use the suppressor sights somewhat okay out to ~10 yards before POA/POI begins to be questionable. I cannot confidently make shots at longer ranges like I could with a 17 or 19 with the similar sight setup.

Thanks.

Yeah, I think I want very low, BUT I do know the front sight with the GL-429s is MUCH lower compared to the rear with other 43X/48 sights. I assume I'll be getting a Dawson front sight for it to get decent POA/POI once I have an idea what that may be.

Good to know it fits the 43X/48 despite all the sites saying it's for all glocks except the 42/43 (I guess they should just say the G42).

DOH.

I just saw someone who used calipers on the GL-429, and they're actually only .304" above the slide. The .394" is with the dovetail (total height).

So (1) the front isn't lower, but actually like .010" taller, and (2) I DO think these may be too short for me based on my own measurements, which seemed like .360" could be as short as I'd want to go.
