I have a Sig Sauer 229 9mm that needs new sights. I'd like to put some Ameriglo SG-504 Defoor sights on it but I'm having trouble figuring out if they will work or not. Called Ameriglo and they didn't know....their website says they will work on any Sig that uses a #8 front and #8 rear. I don't speak Sig...anybody have any experience with this?

Last I checked, 8-8 was the factory configuration for the P229 in 9mm and 357 SIG and 6 front 8 rear for .40S&W. If you still have the OEM sights on your gun, there should be a number stamped on them. FWIW, a friend who was a machinist was having problems getting a set of sights to work with his load and measured the ones he had on the gun and got what he needed from Dawson Precision.

FWIW: I wouldn't go by what Sig installed at at the factory, go by what it needs for POA/POI. My 9mm 229 shipped with 8/8 but needed an 8/6.

Thanks for the input. The gun came with Ashley Big Dots so I have no factory sights to reference.
