The spin about remembrance of a man killed as a result of gun violence, is BS. The memorial should consist of "hey, let's remember not to do bad shit, and we won't get shot in the head, mmkay".

I like the way they reference their database on people who have been shot by CCL holders.

Irvin’s shooting was one of at least 62 in the state since Illinois started issuing concealed carry permits about six years ago, and the details of his shooting were included in the Tribune’s database of shootings by CCL holders since 2014.

Like that's the problem.

Well, that is interesting. I am appreciative of the paper covering the car jacker's TTPs.

Out of curiosity, the 62 shootings statewide by CHL holders is what percentage of the shootings in Chicago during the same time, 2014-19?

Irrelevant. The Chicago Tribune is a PR mouthpiece of City Hall. Their only credible articles are the restaurant reviews.

It is for Chicago’s shadow employer- the criminal underworld. Part of which funnels money back into local politics.

The amount of spin on that article is mind blowing.

Not even one percent. In fact, not even half of a percent.

Between Jan 1, 2014 and 7pm today, there have been 19,201 people shot in the city of Chicago. If we ASSumed that the 62 shot by CHL holders were all in Chicago proper, let’s remove them from the total, for 19,139 shot. Those 62 shot by concealed license holders equal....drum roll please...

0.32% of the total people shot in Chicago since 2014.

Yea, those concealed license holders are a real menace to society, averaging one shooting every 29 days. Chicago is currently average a shooting once every three hours and eighteen minutes....

Thank you for an actual, serious answer.
