Two years ago I retired a 2nd time from Louisiana state service. The 1st from LSP and the 2nd as a State Contracts and Grants Officer. I retired and moved to East Greenwich, RI to get married. I also accepted a federal civil service position with the Army Contracting Command as a Contract Specialist.

The job requires certification in contracting through the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) and is a 2 yr process. I知 sitting in Reagan Nation Airport sipping a Maker's Mark. I just finished my last class and am flying back from 2 weeks in Pax River, MD.

This summer has been nuts. I was gone for 2 weeks in June, July and August. But I知 done!

Congrats, brother.

But don't worry, it's the gov't and they'll find other obstacles and impediments to throw in your path.

Good thing is that Maker's isn't going out of business anytime soon. ;)

Congrats. You could do worse than Makers.

I had a double bourbon tonight. Missing my daughter and granddaughter. But that's my shit. Congrats man!

LSP, congratulations. I have a good friend who was in contracting for years; when you get tired of it on the inside, there痴 a ton of highly lucrative work outside. Unless you壇 rather fish.
