A Safarilink de Havilland Dash 8-200, registration 5Y-SLM performing scheduled flight #1 from Nairobi Wilson to Maasai Mara Kichwa Tembo (Kenya), landed at Kichwa Tembo Airstrip in westerly direction at about 11:00L (08:00) but collided with a number of gnus (also known as Wildebeests) causing the left main gear to collapse and separate from the aircraft, the left propeller impacted ground ejecting one blade, and the aircraft veered left off the runway. There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained substantial damage. (http://avherald.com/h?article=4cba1326&opt=0)

No gnus is good gnus.

This is also why it's a bad idea to allot the better portion of your will to beasts.

When gnus are outlawed, only outlaws will have gnus.

Well.

I’ll look at our current Customer malfunction list but I am pretty sure we don’t have gnu strike. Bird strike, yes.

Sometimes it takes a while for the gnus to make it around the world...

I gnu a guy :p that hit a huge whitetail with an F27 at Peoria, IL back in the early 90’s. Being it was an F27, nothing much happened to the airplane. Someone presented him with one of those little Rudolph lapel pins that had a blinking LED for a nose. He proudly wore that on his London Fog overcoat for years...

Birds took out another Airbus this week. A flock of seagulls according to the news.

gnu?

NU

interjection
Nu is defined as a Yiddish expression of agreement, or is used to ask a simple question instead of using words such as "well" or "so."
An example of nu used as an interjection is when you say "Nu?" to ask why something that you have just been told is important.

The only thing that stops a bad plane with a gnu is a good plane with a gnu

I've had some crazy Dash 8 landings on remote strips in Canada. If you're gonna crash, having fresh meat isn't a bad thing.

We were just there last month. I even have pictures of that airstrip from a distance. The gnus were everywhere and would run out in front of our Land Cruiser. They are truly dumber than deer on pavement.

ETA: I have pictures of the Keekorok Airstrip. I guess when you've seen one dirt strip you've seen them all. :)
