The Boy and I went to our outdoor range which is in a beautiful setting in the hills. We each shot a box, taking our time and teasing each other a little. I can't think of a better way to spend a beautiful spring afternoon. (He kicked my ass, btw).

Shot a little with my uncles and cousins. Even sold a 92 to my uncle, ready for another 19 or possibly a 17 now.

No, but I spent Saturday shooting IDPA, and the previous three days working the range at my job and sneaking in some rounds during breaks and lunch time.

BaiHu and I tried to get out for some fun with the rifles, but the club RSO had a breakdown and come to jesus moment......so without notice, he closed the range for the weekend.

Shot a local steel challenge.
Had a better turn-out than I anticipated.

We did some skeet shooting. I finally learned how long I can shoot my 11-87 without cleaning it at all. It went a few thousand rounds before the lifter started hanging up on accumulated crud. I was sorta impressed, it being on the low end of auto-loading shotgun technology and all.

I scheduled a basic pistol class for April 8th, not realizing it was Easter at the time. When I realized it was Easter and went to pull the class thinking it would not be a good day for it, the class had already been filled.

I joked with the volunteer instructors that we would spend Easter practicing our ‘true religion.’ (No offense intended to anyone. That is just how much we believe in the Cause of promoting the safe, effective, and legal use of pistols.)

It was a good class full of new students showing the promise of dedication.

And I shot a 296 on the Hack before class that morning. Two shots an inch into the C-zone….so close to the fabled perfect score…

It was a good day.

Be careful - I've seen an 11-87 slam fire and apparently the crud had the firing pin stuck forward, I've been told by those who know more than me that it's an 11-87 thing and happens rarely.

Fortunatly it was pointed down range when it happened.
