Just got this in an email. It pisses me off that members of congress can lie and misrepresent what is happening on the border to the point that people really believe there are concentration camps for illegals aliens. And now releasing information in an attempt to intimidate and threaten government employees.

CBP Employees:

CBP has become aware of a Twitter account called @BanalGovJobsBot that has been posting employee name, salary, occupation, and work location information for CBP and ICE employees, followed by a statement that those employees are “part of the bureaucracy that is locking children and families in concentration camps at the border.”

The source of this information appears to be from Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Open Government releases of salary information for Federal Employees who are not exempt due to specific Law Enforcement or National Security concerns. At this time, this salary data is considered by OPM to be public information, and is available through several Federal employee salary database search sites on the public Internet. Although this information is currently considered public, given the current political climate the specific targeting and naming of any CBP employee could lead to cyber-attacks, harassment, discrimination, or even physical threats to safety.

CBP employees whose information has been released by this Twitter account are being notified individually; however, all CBP employees should be mindful of and take prudent precautions regarding their personal online presence – for example, you may find it beneficial to limit any self-identification as a CBP employee or otherwise drawing undue attention to your work, as well as avoid online discussions and social media interactions on subjects relating to work. You should further look to secure personal email, social media, and other online accounts with strong authentication that goes beyond the use of simple user names and passwords.

Employees who feel harassed or threatened by posts on Twitter or on other social media sites can use the social media site’s reporting features to report and label targeted posts as being potentially abusive or harmful. If you feel that you are the target of online harassment related to your official duties, please inform your supervisory chain of command, contact the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) Joint Intake Center at JOINTINTAKE@cbp.dhs.gov or 1-877-246-8253, and you may also contact the CBP Security Operations Center (SOC) at CBPSOC@cbp.dhs.gov or (703) 921-6507 with questions about cybersecurity.

This country seems to have completely misguided folks on both sides. (Maybe that's what Trump should have said after Charlottesville.)

You have the "Send her back" idiots on one side, and those who would perpetrate the above on our federal employees on the other.

Until this country can once again appreciate the value of moderation and the middle ground, it's only going to get worse.

Oh Fuck, seems like everything except home addresses, and those wont be hard to find.
Good luck and stay safe.

So, OPM was keeping that data public?

Doxing has very bad karmic repercussions. I seem to remember that the journalists who doxed Darren Wilson were themselves doxed shortly thereafter. Of course they wrote all manner of columns about how terrifying the experience was.

If you wear a badge you should be in condition yellow 24/7.

Face the fact that while most of the public respects you, there are vile people of every stripe that rejoice at your ruin.

The people he is doxing are non-LE employees.

This is pretty much the standard in CA for local LE. Every public employee has their pay and wages posted, by year. Not address, but a few database searches and they know where you live.

This is nothing new. Most of the ICE employees in the prior Wikileaks doxxing dump were non LEOs. That included photos of the employees and in some cases their spouses and kids.

You'll need to find a way to get this country off their screens first. Social media's proven itself to be an excellent vehicle for radicalization, and will continue to perform even if Congress manages to put a stop to their publisher/platform tapdancing.

"It’s time to set some limits. But how do you stop the machine while respecting free will?"

PF will absolutely help any LE/government employees that need assistance with their online presence here. Just let me know.
