45 70 or 3030? I have zero need for one but want is high... plus... threaded barrels make me more likely to get a suppressor...

That Marlin is so very wrong but kind of right.
I am really glad that this one (http://www.winchesterguns.com/products/rifles/model-1886/model-1886-current-products/model-1886-deluxe-rifle-case-hardened.html) has the crescent buttstock so that it tempers my temptation..........a bit.

My friend ordered a Vudoo and I am really glad because he sold me his Anshutz 1712 Silhouette to fund it. :D
I am looking forward to trying out the Vudoo when it arrives.

I want a Vudoo, very badly. I could shoot it suppressed in my backyard all day.

You know that I've got an 1891 manufactured one of those, right?

I'd hold out for a GBSL, myself.

The dark is on my short list. One each in .30-30 and .45-70.

I still kick myself for not grabbing an 1895 GSBL in 15-16 before they discontinued it. The Dark series is the closest they have come to the GSBL in a few years.

They probably will be for a minute or two with Remington furloughing 700 employees for 2 months. Hopefully they’ll be available in August-September when the lights get turned back on.

I was positive that I had a full-length shot of the variant with the M-Lok fore-end, but alas, no... :(
Edit to add: I am no lever guru, but these things had the smoothest action of any lever I have ever handled.

The ones on the rack look like Remington/Marlin Custom Shop guns (the CS is out of South Dakota now, not Ilion). Those guys do some pretty good work. Even the factory ones I messed with a bit at SHOT show felt pretty good.

You may be right. The display had Mossberg on one side, Remington on the other.
On the Remington side...

LL, everyone, I love where you shop, but I can only drool over your choices. Stuff of dreams for me.
I have a Marlin 1895 in 45-70 with the old Ashley Express sights. Even with a recoil pad that thing thumps a lot harder than my Miroku built Winchester 1886.
Marlins are light, and warm/hot 45-70 loads have some whoopass to them.

The only thing that could make this rifle better is a lever with a larger opening so the knuckle of my second finger doesn't take a beating during recoil. But I'm willing to take a look at what you got ;)

My family heirloom 45/70 manufactured in 1891, used in the Johnson County War (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnson_County_War).
So a 30-30 and 300 BO could share the same suppresses right? Asking for a friend.

That's amazing. Your Johnson County War rifle isn't just old school, it's a vintage battle scarred veteran.
I have a Winchester I inherited from my grandfather that he bought at the estate sale of a ranch in North Dakota, back in the late twenties or early thirties. It was kept at a line shack. It's not a 45-70 though. It's a 25-35.

Some of my lever guns... Oldest is the prewar Winchester 1894 in good old 30-30. All are a lot of fun to shoot.
I've carried the Marlin .45-70 elk hunting but I've never been presented with a shot when I've had that gun along.
FWIW - Load a 300 gr. 45-70 JHP over a healthy dose of powder and shoot one gallon cans of creamed corn/diced tomatoes.
You'll fall over from laughing - it's like kinetic fireworks.
So a 30-30 and 300 BO could share the same suppresses right? Asking for a friend.
Yes as long as the can is rated for .300 BO supers.
Some pistol cans are only rated for .300 BO sub sonic.
