View Full Version : Trijicon HRS vs regular RM06

Is the only difference between the HRS version of the RM06 and the regular ones the finish process (Cerakote vs Hard Anodized) and the markings/SN?

I ASSume the black RM06 is hard anodized, like the HRS, so if I were to buy a black one I would just be giving up the markings/SN? I don't NEED a flat dark earth optic, so if there would be a savings there, I'm all for it.

Finally, has anyone bought an RM06 from Amazon? I'm leery of counterfeits from there on certain items.

weren't the cerakoted ones prone to having the emitter cover fall off?

Trijicon makes other variants with Cerakote, but the HRS and black versions are hard-anodized.

If you don't care about the markings or the color, black is the way to go.

I wouldn't trust Amazon for that sort of thing. Both of my RMRs came from EuroOptic and they have treated me VERY well.

I had that happen twice with a standard RMR2, so I don't think the cerakote makes a difference.

Some folks claimed they were.

Amazon has one distinct advantage — a no hassle money back return for 30 days. Thirty days to a red dot is like a multiple of dog years — say two years for a regular scope.

Even if you buy from Amazon themselves, due to how their warehouses handle the SKUs, third party stock that also uses Amazon warehouses and the Amazon marketplace will be mixed with Amazon's own stock (the Fulfilled By Amazon sellers), if the third party claims to be selling an identical item as Amazon. So, if you know what to look for on a counterfeit, no big deal, use the returns system like you've suggested, but if you're not sure, you could easily be getting a ChiCom copy that a third party seller had marked as a genuine product, and thus it gets inserted into the stock as the genuine ones that Amazon had procured.

This ^^^ also applies to things like tourniquets.

Me, and me a second time. I have gone 1-2 attempting to purchase RMR's from Amazon. I am a Prime member fwiw.

First order, I made a gamble and ordered an Amazon Warehouse "like new" RM09 (mistake). Came in genuine packaging, but was an obvious counterfeit. Returned to Amazon, and they wanted to charge me return shipping "because they had to confirm it wasn't the real product." Two weeks later, I was recouped shipping cost in the form of a gift certificate.

Second order, brand new RM09 from the official Amazon retail (not 3rd party "fulfilled by" option). Same problem, but instead of a lightly used counterfeit, it was a BNIB fake. Returned with no hassle aside from lost time.

Third attempt was a success and is currently at Primary Machine with a G19 top end awaiting a mill job. The only reason I tried the 3rd time is because with each counterfeit, they gave me a little extra on the gift card to "make up for the inconvenience." It took patience, but I ultimately got an RM09 for a really good deal.

Yikes. I just bought a type 2 RMR from Amazon and sent it off to Primary without looking at it closely. Hopefully it is real or Primary will notice it and advise.

These were so bad you would have immediately noticed. Shiny finish, obviously cut rather than forged, and shiny silver adjustment dials. If it didn't jump out immediately, you are certainly fine.
