What is really a "patriotic state"?
Who is really a "patriot"?
Where does "dissent is the highest form of patriotism" fits?
A Homer waving a flag and with NRA and .mil bumper stickers may not be really patriotic depending on your point of view.

Not saying I agree with the methodology or not, but it's defined in the article.

Here in NH, most of us take our Live Free or Die state motto pretty seriously so it was good to see NH topping their list.

Was thinking the same thing.

Change this to “State Pride” and Texas will be first.

It’s also apparent that population is the influencing factor here. Three of the five “least patriotic” states are the highest population states in the union. California, New York, Texas. Collectively contain 25% of the US population, Jersey adds another 2.7%. Bringing you close to a third of the country.
