Is the extractor depressor bearing assembly (The rod-spring-plastic top) thing a wear part in a glock?

If so, when should it be changed?

Also, does taking the slide apart so one can spray the insides with compressed air going to damage the plastic thing on the end of the extractor depressor bearing assembly when it's pushed back in with a punch or the tip of a ball point pen?

Every part is a "wear" part eventually. Normal detail stripping to degrease the slide will not hurt those parts. I suppose, over time you could deform the plastic part by pressing on it continuously. If you start to notice weak extraction or FTE's & a new RSA does not fix the problem, you may want to replace the spring. The rod & plastic part should way out last the spring though. I would say replace those when they become deformed or rounded/mushroomed in any way, if ever. Also, you may want to use brake cleaner or a degreaser to spray in your slide after the air to actually remove the lube/debris in there as opossed to just displacing it which air can do with smaller/wetter particles.
