Looking to put a set of Dawson Fibres on a G26 Gen 5, would this model be fine on a G26 in terms of height?

I don't see the charger model available for Gen 5 Glocks.

My G26.5 has stock Glock rears (0.256"?) night sights and 0.180" tall Pro-Glo Tritium Fronts: Orange / Circle / 0.180" Model GL-212-180-OR-C ($ 60.00). "For me" they shoot to point of aim out to 25 yards for anything from Federal AE9DP 115 to HST 147.

I understand Glock puts 0.200" high fronts on Gen 5s. For me they seem to shoot low using stock rear sight heights. I have found (again, "for me") that the 0.180" front height and stock rears shoots best. This is the same height combination I have on my USPSA Glock 19.5 (and the same front sight as it turns out.) I would add that some find the 0.200" height shoots well for them, so it may be ammo/shooter/specific gun dependant, perhaps. I'm no expert, for sure.

I just circled the drain on this, for my M&P 2.0 and my friends G19-5. I ended up calling Dawson and they confirmed what RJ shared, the front sight simply needs to be just a little taller, and damn if I didn't just throw my notes away... My recollection is that it was 0.020", but comparing some of the paired up sets makes it look like 0.025".

One thing I can tell you for sure is that my experience with Dawson (they were also very helpful with my SR1911) is that a dude that knows the score, probably Jay, is gonna answer the phone on the second or third ring and help you right out.

Another things is the paired up sets they offer are just suggestions, and when you order up front and rear sights it comes up to be the same price. The only thing that could possibly be an issue is it seems like some of the sights might be in increments that are 0.005" off. For example I was going to suggest to my friend he consider their taller Competition version, but it would have been a mismatch with the available height of the front sight to accommodate the Gen5. This could be why they do not offer a Charger set, but you could put a set together that might be just a wee bit high or low.

Also for the G26, you might get a little wider notch, since moving the front back effectively makes it wider in the notch.

I used to wonder what the big deal is with Dawsons, but I am becoming a bit of a fanboy.

Dawson fixed rear sights all the same height for all gens. Just order a Charger rear. For the Gen 5 they changed the front sight height I think for just the 17 and 34 but I am not certain of that. I do know that my Gen 5 17 came with the Ameriglo FBI sights (Bold?) and it shot a couple inches low at 25. Bought Dawson Gen5 17 set and elevation is now right on.

From my experience with changing sights on a G5G17, playing with Dawson's website sight height calculator, and measuring the stock G5 Ameriglo night sights, I'm seeing that Gen 5 needs the front sight height above slide to be identical or .005 taller than the rear to hit top of blade at 25yd with 147gr standard pressure like HST.

I've noticed a pretty big POI difference between 124, 124+P, 135+P and 147 at least when shot at a 25yd B8. Might be worth choosing one specific load if you're trying to get zeroed more precisely than 2" or so different between center of groups at 25yd with different loads.

Yeah this is quite possibly one of the most confusing things because Dawson lists different heights for the 19X/G45 compared to the G19/17. I know this is really splitting hairs but to avoid more confusion I took the advice of multiple members on this thread and went with a standard set of Chargers for Gen 1-4. I haven't had a chance to shoot but I'm sure they're fine.

My 19 came with .200 Agents and shot way low, the .180 front corrected that.

I contacted Dawson. They did confirm the Gen 5 specific version is taller. The G17/19 model will work on the G26
