After several practice sessions with good results and no unresolved issues, I have begun using my FN 509 as a CC firearm. I am looking for a low profile single mag pouch that ideally could be removed from the belt without unthreading it. I have been unable to determine which pouches hold these mags with acceptable friction, but can be removed swiftly if needed. I tried the Blackhawk clip back pouches years ago and broke three belt clips in rapid succession. My ideal configuration would be something thin and low profile like the Glock polymer mag pouches I have used for twenty five years with great success even though they cannot be removed easily from the belt. Any ideas, especially from those of you who carry the 509 regularly?

IWB or OWB?

I've tried several different quick on/off options for OWB and was unsatisfied with all of them. The best I tried was a snap-on carrier from 5-Shot Leather, and that held tight to the body and was reasonably durable. I no longer use it because I don't carry a P30 anymore, but it was comparable to my favorite OWB carrier (CCC BMC) for concealment.

For IWB, I'm very happy with the DSG Koala.

I’ve been using a Tulster Universal Mag Carrier. It adjusts for any double stack 9mm or 40 mags and can be worn IWB or OWB.

Ive used this one for quite awhile. No complaints. So far they have worked for a shield mag/ M&P mag/ Glock mag and also work for a NAA blackwidow.

I don't have any experience with the FN, but I've been using the JMCK version 3 mag pouch (https://www.jmcustomkydex.com/p/SPMP3.html) with the clip for my PX4s. He lists the FN 509 as one of the available models.

I found a locally made variant of this carrier at the LGS less than a mile from my house. Seems to work quite well with the FN mag even though it is marked for the Glock 9/40 mags. Cant figure out how to post a link, but the company is RVA Concealment, LLC.

Beat me to it, except my example is for the P250/320. Highly recommended.

I have a Bawidamann Delinger OWB coming for my 320 mags now. Haven't been happy with my current OWB 320 pouches. On hour five of a six hour car ride, however, the DSG Koala continues to impress.
