Would anyone happen to have a pic of the slide cut that Glock put on their Gen 5s to improve ejection?

Am getting a Gen 5 G17 and was advised to get one with the new cut if I can. A pic would help me sort out what my local dealer has in stock. Also, does anyone know when this cut was incorporated into the G17s?

Thanks!

Try this link, it should go to post 2482, dated 10/29/18, which has a picture of the new breech cut:

Thanks a bunch!

I'll see if any of the LGS's stock has the cut. Even if his guns don't have it, I'm getting a G17.5 for sure. :)

I have a G48, G19X and G45 with the new breech face cut, the ones I have seen started with BH and none of my BG or earlier have the new design.

I just checked my new production FDE 19.5, and it does not have the new cut out.

Brand new Gen 5 G34 does, along with forward serrations.

That is correct.

My BH prefix 19 does NOT have this feature. Dealing with brass pummeling my RMR and weak ejection, currently.

The earliest one I have starts with BHN.

Does it behave the same way without the RMR mounted? Am curious.

Yes, ejection with AE9FP was less than excellent pre-RMR as well. No BTF, but anemic and inconsistent. About the only thing that changed adding the RMR was that I occasionally hurl brass towards my target at 12 oclock (bouncing off the optic). I have to decide if I swap to an Apex extractor or pursue alternative options. No failures yet, but I foresee them coming.

I have a BE prefix 19.5.

In December, at around 3,000 rounds, I installed a new Trigger Mechanism Housing with Ejector 47208 (with the 47021 Ejector). I shoot AE9 (115).

I wouldn’t say ejection is super consistent (not, at least, like say my VP9 was) but I don’t really seem to have many issues after I did that.

Just an idea.

Was your swap to the 7201 just for S & G's or was it born out of necessity?

This is what I was going to recommend.

Generally as an attempt to restore the initial ejection of the gun when it was new.

I recall being beaned in the noggin a few times, at matches or at the range, last fall. So I did some research and discovered there was a new part so took the opportunity to fit it "while I was in there" doing my 0.25 trigger job in December.

Certainly ejection now is not super consistent but it's not to the level of what I understand was the widespread BTF issue.

Bottom line, could I have not done the part update and lived with it? I guess so. But I was just getting my YouTube Glock Armorer Badge  and I thought well why not.
