While saps and blackjacks make semi-regular guest appearances around here, I do not believe that we have a blunt object thread going yet.

And, since today, Feb 22, is Nunchaku Friday, may as well start one up. Feel free to post anything interesting, historic, vintage, or all of the above.

"What's in that little rectangular box?"

"Why, it's a set of 10.75" purpleheart/cord Nunchaku, to go with the early-80s vintage 12" rock maple/swivel chain pair I've had since I was a sprout:"

I have a couple of saps, a couple of jacks, a couple of batons...

But really the one I come back to continuously is a Boston Leather 2-ply Midget. It’s thin enough to carry/conceal in a pocket well and heavy enough to do the job. I also, like the thin strap. But that’s because the strap is strictly a draw aid.

If I were going to change anything, I might add a small spring clip along one of the edges (not the flat), so I could hook it deep in a back pocket, without adding anything to the width.

Here she is after a quick coat of leather treatment and a fresh rubber band to hold the strap the way I want it.

I had Foster add a snap in that spot.

I think I might download mine later. Or switch over to dollar coins. I have mine with a mixture, mostly quarters. And honestly, I realized earlier that it is heavier than my midget sap and is dragging my coat pocket down a little bit too much. If 50-cent pieces were still in common use, a stack of those would be nearly ideal.

In the meantime, I think I'll go to 70% dollars and 30% quarters.
