I have been seeing "Colt SCHP" solid copper ammo in 9mm, .40 and .45 lately at pretty decent prices. Does anyone know who makes this and if its "performance" is good? I feel somewhat silly asking since my general philosophy for those calibers is "HST or Gold Dot in the heaviest weight for caliber." I see little reason to look elsewhere, but I do like to experiment sometimes.

Thanks

Hadn't even heard about it, but the bullets look familiar https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/00247p9mm115schp100/9mm-luger-point355-diameter-115-grain-solid-copper-hollow-point-(schp-projectile)-100-count

I’ve tested the 9mm for accuracy in several guns. A couple of my HKs shoot it well, as in 1.25 to 1.75” groups at 20 yards. I believe I saw something somewhere about who was loading it for Colt, but that part of my short term memory is now vacant...

No info on terminal performance. I do recall that price was pretty good.

Double Tap is making it.

I am not saying double tap does not make it, but the stuff I am referring to is the "SCHP" all copper bullet. That isn't listed n the page you linked to. I went ahead and got 200 rounds of the .40 for $50.00, but don't really have the ability to meaningfully test penetration or expansion so would still welcome any input. Based on the price I am guessing the stuff is being closed out and maybe is out of production.

I just posted the info I found. Colt definitely isn't making it.

I understand. If my earlier post sounded snarky, it was unintentional.
