Those of you shooting Gen 5 Glocks, would you please reply with what sights you’re using (heights and widths if you know them please) and what hold you’re using for hits at 25 yds (tops of blades, drive the dot, 6 o’clock, etc). Thanks!

I really wanted to use the Dawson Adjustable Tritium sights on these, but
1. They’re going to require .360 high fronts to regulate and that’s too high for a couple reasons (holster compatibility and offset over distance)
2. After carrying them IWB all day Saturday and 1/2 day Sunday I’ve got a nice cut going on my side, even with using an undershirt. No bueno.

Anymore I go with short, fat, smooth, high visibility sights on my carry guns.
Right now that's Night Fision (https://www.nightfision.com/).
They are harder to wring the absolute best performance on paper/steel at the range than other taller, sharper, thinner, etc. sights, but they are way, easier to live with all day every day.
Read some of Tom Givens voluminous data on civilian defensive handgun shootings and the difference between a 2" and a 3" group at 25 yards is Angels dancing on pinheads.

But don't listen to me, i've always been the guy who would have no problem carrying XS Big Dots.
:p

lol. I’ll say this though, the XS Big Dots rear sight is rounded like butter! They aren’t going to draw blood ever.

OP. I’ve put Big Dots on all my Glock’s to date. Up to 25yds, hold on target. Lower a little past that. They worked remarkably well! None are series 5 though. And of course, Big Dots aren’t adjustable.

Good luck.

19X has a set of Trijicon HD with a .245 tall front post. POI is just on the top of the post
.

G45 - Saturday I Frankensighted a set - combining the OEM Glock tritium rear sight with an AmeriGlo CAP front that was from a G43 set. The front of this set was the same height as the OEM Glock tritium front post. What I got was a .125 front so a bit thinner, somewhat wider light bars in the rear notch. POI looked like same as the Glock set or very close - right at or just above the front post at 25 yards. 147 grain HST hit a couple inches higher, 135 gr Critical Duty +P hit a bit lower light behind the dot. 124 grain HST right at or a skosh above the front post. I need to shoot them another time or two to decide if I stick with the combo.

G19x #1- Dawson Chargers .225 x .125 rear, .225 x .105 With AE 124 I have to use a 6:00 hold on the black of a B8 at 25
G19x #2- Ameriglo GL5113 Width .140 front .150 rear. I didn't see a published spec for height. Would have to measure. POI is top of sight post at 25 with 124 AE
G19x RMR upper has Dawson tritium suppressor height sights on it. Stupid tall, like .425 x .125 front .395 x .125 rear. POI is top of sight post at 25 with 124 AE

Thanks for all replies so far. The other issue I'm seeing in shopping around is everyone seems to have gone to super fat fronts and super wide light bars (.140 fronts, .180 rears) or they slim the front to .125, but still leave wide rears. For the last 5 years I ran a TCAP front (.125) with a .150 notch rear and even then I'm finding that to have more slop than I'd like.

The Dawsons have .125 front and .125 rear notch and I like the tighter light bars. Additionally, the white ring on the front sight, but just tritium vials on the rears creates a great contrast that I find works just about like an HD or similar hi viz sight.

Their site photographs seem to show pretty sharp edges, but that could be my imagination. Does the rear sight wear on you or your clothes over time?

Re Fision sights - any feedback on how the blue works vs orange or yellow/green?

Ameriglo FBI sights on the G19 (.140 front).

Trijicon HD-XR on the G17 (.125 front).

On both I split the bull at 25 yards (use the top of the front sight blade).

How do you like the HD-XR? I'd like to try a set but I've never seen a taller than standard front post offered. Our tight Gen 4s and so far Gen 5s would I fear impact high with the old standard dimensions.

I'm running Ameriglo Suppressor sights on my Gen5 G19 MOS. Front is tritium, rear is blacked out.

POI with 147-grain American Eagle FMJ is about 1" over the tip of the front sight post at 25 and roughly drive-the-dot at 50.

POI with 124-grain S&B is right on the tip of the front sight post at 25.

I don't have POIs for defense ammo yet.

Honestly, I'm mixed on the HD-XR. I very much like the high-vis front sights. However, I think the rear notch is too wide on the HDs - especially with the newer XR front. Still, they've been well regulated for me.

If you need more sight height options, Wilson Combat has introduced some new thin Ameriglo front sights in .230 and .245 (https://shopwilsoncombat.com/Wilson-Combat_AmeriGlo-Glock-Snag-Free-Front-Sight-Green-Tritium-with-Green-Outline-230/productinfo/892GT230/). On my G34 (a GEN3), I'm experimenting with the Wilson Combat/Vickers rear sight with a .245 height Ameriglo Pro-Glo front sight. I think the .125 front with the .145 rear notch on the Vickers rear is just about optimal.

I'd like to see the Agent or HD rears offered with a narrower notch.

I’ve tried the Ameriglo Bold .165 in height works at 25 yards and I switched to the CAP square front sight.
My 26.5 has the .165 height CAP which matches well as above and I haven’t shot my 19.5 yet with the Glock sights it came with, most likely it will get CAP sights.

I don't know what "hold on target" means. Must be Big Dot lingo.

More rounded with less rear razors edge undercut than HD's, that's for sure.

How about "put the big white dot where you want the bullets to go and press the trigger", kind of like how you shoot a red dot.

Here is an adjustable rear sight I didn't now existed until a minute ago. Price seems low for an adjustable. I haven't found info there prescribing front heights needed for this rear. https://warrentactical.com/product/glock-sevigny-competition-adjustable-rear-sight/

Tritium adjustables available here. ATL based btw. http://stores.kensight.com/glock/

Ameriglo .256Tx.130W rear paired with a Proctor .180Tx.117W front gives a drive the dot hold at 25 yards with 115 gr. fiocchi and AE on my G5G19.

Glock 26.5 EDC
Rears - Standard Glock Night Sights
Front - Ameriglo Pro-Glo Tritium Orange 0.180" high, model GL-212-180-OR-C

Glock 19.5 USPSA Gun
Rears - Defoor Steel black (standard Glock rear sight height)
Front - Ameriglo Pro-Glo Tritium Orange 0.180" high, model GL-212-180-OR-C

Both of these sight pairs are PoI=PoA for me with a Drive the Dot (put orange dot on target, press trigger) sight picture out to 25 yards using Federal HST 147 / Speer Lawman 115 / AE 124 FMJ.

G45 carry - The factory Ameriglo Bolds shot a bit too low for me, so I switched the front post out for a thinner and shorter ProGlo front (GL-212, .180H x .125W).
G45 trainer - After shooting with the stock plastic sights and liking the results, I wanted some Ameriglo Classics that were similar in height (GL-113).

My hold is drive-the-dot on both of them.

The Warren adjustable rear somewhat resembles the Dawson adjustable except it has a wide notch and rounded corners. The Warren will probably take a .300" to .325" tall front.

.165 tall Ameriglo front paired with .256 rear, holding tops of blades center black @ 25yds (above group hits circled in red):

Ameriglo FBI "Agent" sights (U-notch rear) covering 2/3 black with tops of blades (red circled hits from a different group):

I'm going to run the Agent sights on 779 for awhile. From what I saw today the U-notch seems a bit faster. On 648 I've got the .180 front back on the gun and I think with the same 2/3 coverage hold as the Agent sights I should see centered hits.

Based on what I'm seeing from a .245 tall front post on a G48 I think 10-8 is on the right track with this .250 front. I can imagine this working well with my G45 and 19X as well as the .245s on them are borderline to top of post or just below it with some loads.
