Don’t have them all in one picture and some have other guns pictured with them.

Remington Rand 1911 A1 – spent a portion of one HS summer vacation ruining the collector value.

Les Baer full size 1911 – far right.

You're welcome to rescue this one, too. You have my PP, I have your FFL. :D

Whyyyy???

Quite a few reasons, here are the cliff notes. I've lost that loving feeling, for guns in general, actually. I once had a passion for shooting, then I stopped shooting (hand injury), so my passion morphed into a need to acquire cool guns and gear (and knives) to fill the void. I reentered the industry earlier this year (after being gone for five years), so dealing with guns and cool stuff everyday has left me a bit numb to it all (again). I've done more shooting this year than I have in the last six years combined and subsequently become refocused on skill building and performance. I'm only interested in firearms that serve a purpose and fill a need (SD, HD, Hunting - bonus points for multi-purpose). Since I was young, I've never been one to keep things I don't use. And lastly, I'm pretty motivated to becoming debt free right now. So, all the expensive stuff is going away and being backfilled with Glock pistols, Glock-like long guns, and ammunition (bought 700rds of 308 today, shooting tomorrow). When I think about it, I've simply come full circle to where I was five years ago.

Sorry for the thread drift, here's a couple more 45 pics to get us back on track. Sold this CQB-E to a previous boss, and I'm told that I'm in the will to get it back. *fingers crossed.

My Colt O1091 after firing its 1,000th zero stoppages round with Wilson ETM magazines, Federal American Eagle 230, and Federal HST 230. Pictured across my chest with bacon and a gingham napkin corner because 4th of July and Americana.

To date this 2016 purchase has not ever been cleaned or lubed and is 50% done with a stupidly long 2,000 round challenge.

So those are my two .45s. But they’re good ones.

Agreed. The pictures here are terrific, but we have an entire sub-forum for cool pictures. This is a technical sub-forum. When I see "Let's see your..." thread titles I have to check to make sure I'm in the right place.

Yes, it’s probably my favorite gun to shoot right now. I bought it’s little brother, the M2.0 4” Compact 9mm, and it’s also fantastic. Bought them both as low price rebate guns out of idle curiosity. In my hands they blow away the 320 and even the Gen5 Glocks

Buckeye, my edc is now and has been twice before, a G30S. Each time I switched to some respectable firearms (an H&K P30SK was the last one) I was sorry and came back to the Glock. I've always heard there's a gun for each of us - the G30S, for no sensible reason, seems to be mine and I just shoot it well. Plus, I'm comfortable with the innards of Glocks and have done a few exterior tweaks (such as undercutting the trigger guard). IMO, that's one of the primary attractions of Glocks - the damn guns lend themselves to an amateur like me. My ammo choices have varied over the last couple years, but I keep coming back to Federal HST/230 grain (for edc). Having said that, I keep hearing great things about the Underwood ammo. I believe I've found the ideal holster for this pistol and me: a JMCK with the DCC clips. I have the clips all the way down and it's a perfect height for me.

The 30S is the only Glock that I have had to undercut the trigger guard slightly... Other than that and sights its all stock

Buckeye, forgot to mention that my standard procedure on my Glocks is to swap out the sights almost immediately. I usually use Ameriglo Pros, orange front and green rears. As for the "innards," I use a guide named "PTOOMA (as in 'pulled that one outta my a**')" that someone gave me when I bought my first 30S. It's essentially the same polishing, etc. that Glock recommends, although the pictures are much bigger - you'll understand better when you reach my advanced age. Recent discoveries in sights, however, have me reconsidering the Pros.

Gosh .. I do like that P97 !

That was one of my Grail guns. Local shop posted a pic of their new clearance counter and I could just barely make out the muzzle and .45 on the price tag so I knew it was a P97. I went down first thing the next day and thankfully it was a DC model so I snatched it up. I think I gave $275 for it. Goes real nice with the P95DC I bought back when I turned 21.

My dad carried this everyday for god knows how many years then last year he handed it down to me. Being left handed and not knowing jack about 1911s I took it into Robar for an ambi safety, deep cleaning, and internal polishing. With all the horror stories I've heard about Kimber quality I figured it would be a problem child that would end up sitting in the safe as memorabilia but I am happy to say I've got about 1,200 rounds through it without a single issue using Walmart ball and HST.

I didn't either.

ends up they are rather uncommon. A couple people have offered me pretty good money for it that are collectors since it is a late model gun and I have all the docs for it.

I like it and intend to keep it though. I have always wanted one, and the decocker version makes it such a sweet gun to shoot and carry.

That said, from what I have since learned from guys who are far more educated about such things than I am, you can convert regular 4506s without too much hassle, and the parts are not all that hard to come by even today. The guys over on the S&W forum are all dialed in on such things are are great at imparting their knowledge about such things.

Great guys.

I actually still have an unfired 4506 sitting in my safe that I am going to sell one of these days when things slow down, and the right collector comes along. It is in the box will all the usual stuff. I literally drove halfway across the state of Idaho and back again to get it from the guy. Burned a solid $100+ worth of gas in my old land cruiser to get that thing, but how often do you find an unfired 4506 in the box?

Brought this back from Afghanistan. It’s about a .45 caliber. The cylinder stop is worn down to the point the cylinder just freely spins.

1870s production in London. Wonder how it ended up in a shop in Kabul in 2002. Quite a list of possibilities.

Unfortunately those stocks didn't really work for me. They sure look a lot prettier than the goodyears that are on the gun now. But shooting the gun with full power loads has ceased to be painful with the Pachmayrs now on it.

(I am aware some people feel one should only load .45 Colt with lead bullets. Those people are wrong. The gun shoots much cleaner with plated bullets.)

I'd like first refusal on that if you do sell it.

The sights in the picture look thicker than the traditional 1917 (unless it's an optical illusion) . I know the 22-4 variant of the 1950 came with a wider front sight. Is that an older one than the 22-4? I've been looking for a fixed sight variant with better sights but have been avoiding the lock.

The front sight is thicker than the Model 1917, but not as thick as the later, pinned, sight on the 22-4. The Model of 1950 Army preceded the Model 22, and was the commercial version of the Model 1917.

This one of my favorite 45 revolvers. Started out as a 6 1/2" Model 25 / Model of 1955 revolver. I picked up a 4" Model 28 Highway Patrolman barrel which I had bored and rifled for 45acp. That barrel is now marked 45 cal Model of 1950. This is a very nice shooter.
