I'm on the hunt for night sights for my P2000SK. I like the way it hits with the factory sights. Bullet impact is top of the front sight. I'm not a fan of drive the dot sights. The factory front and rear sights both measure 0.156" high. So I am looking for a night sight set where the front and rear sights are the same height. But I am coming up empty. Any advice on night sights for the P2KSK that hit at top of front sight is appreciated.

I'm a big fan of the P2000 series, and have carried a LEM full size quite a bit. One of the downsides to the P2000 lineup is the lack of sights, as you're probably aware. Here's the all P2000 night sights I'm aware of:

Trijicon Bright & Tough 3 dots.

Trijicon HD

Meprolight 3 dots. I understand these are the "factory" night sights. HK Pro will be happy to sell you some. HK Customer Service might be a good option too. They often sell parts at a cheaper price than their internet competitors.

XS Big Dots. (Probably not what you're looking for).

When it comes to POI and POA, it's a bit of crap shoot. That's the main reason my P2000 still wears factory steel sights. If you find something good, please let us know.

Good luck.

If you have the factory Meprolights, which are drive the dot, there is a mep front sight that’s lower.

I got mine for $14 from brownells (on sale). I can confirm the blade height is 0.140”

Not sure how far it drives up the poi though as I haven’t got around to installing yet.

When I get my PC back up and running I'll check POI with various loads and distances. I use Trijicon Bright and Tough on all my possible carry guns.

Trijicon HD Orange on P2000SK work well for me. Impact is at top of sights at 25 yds with 115/124 gr.

I like this!

Also OEM VP9 / P30 front sight will fit. I installed a luminescent 6.1mm OEM front sight on my P2Ksk to raise the POI. There is a 5.9mm sight available as well. I prefer a plain black rear so I just sharpied out the dots.

If this is true, than here is another option:

I have these on 2x P2000SKs with same results. Very satisfied.

Thanks everyone. Good to know that a VP9/P30 front sight will work.

My P2000SK has factory non-illuminated sights. Just white dots.

Is there anywhere I can find the dimensions of Meprolight sights?

No,sir.

The OP was asking for night sight options, and the P2k/P2ksk weren't listed on the Night Fision website. Didn't know they were compatible until your post.

No worries, your answer is probably better than mine regardless as mine aren’t really night sights but “luminescent” sights. Together we achieved one whole recommendation, lol.

Trijicon Bright and Tough (HK09) shoots to top edge with 124 NATO and Gold Dot 124gr +P.

For Trijicon, the Bright and Tough and the HD sight sets both have the front sight at 0.030" taller than the rear. This should put POA just slightly lower than what I am seeing now with my sights. However, the HD sights are taller overall and more expensive.

I'm waiting to hear back from Meprolight regarding their sight dimensions.

Using my calipers and my calibrated eyeballs I have the highest part of the front sight as 0.167” from the slide top.

Rear sight is 0.155” from slide top.

Front sight is 0.140” wide. Rear notch is 0.162” wide.

Thanks Shawnw

I got a response from Meprolight for the sight dimensions of ML-11519:

Hi Adam.

The front sight height is 4.1mm (0.161")

The rear sight height is 3.2mm (0.126")

The front sight width is 3.5mm (0.138")

The width of the rear sight notch is 4.3mm (0.169")

I hope that was helpful.

Are these measurements for the Meprolight ML-11519 sight set?

Couldn’t tell you the model. They just say tru dot on the side. This is a full size p2000 and not an sk if that makes any difference.

In my experience the regular Trijicon night sights replicate the original sights on each pistol. I just looked at the measurements for the P2000SK Trijicon sights and they're nearly identical to the measurements above.

Have you checked with Dawson? They have nights for the USP. Unless you are looking for three dots.

Ok. I think I'm going with HDs. Do they still have the issue with being so sharp they shred clothing.

So this happened yesterday... Front required minor fitting, install was pretty straightforward with a small hammer & brass punch. Rear isn’t as sharp as some people make them out to be. Hope to get to the range later to confirm POI.

Ok. Looking for the best price on HDs. Found them for $117 at Scopelist. Anyone order from them before?

Mixed feelings. Definitely cover hold. Front sight sure does obscure the target which limits precision.

Don't get me wrong these are really nice sights. I need more range time to get acquainted. Yesterday I put 100 rounds each of 124gr Lawman & white box NATO and found my POI was consistently 1" low at 7 yards. But HKs typically shoot low for me anyhow.

I had Trijicon HD night sights installed on my USP 45 full-size 4 months ago. They are taller sights than the stock ones that came on the pistol. Just for my peace of mind, I shipped the slide and sights to Trijicon for installation. About a 3 week turnaround. They installed the sights for free and they paid return shipping too. They also returned my old sights. Satisfied with the workmanship.

I like shooting POA/POI. These sights work for me in that regard. But I am also at the age where getting a consistent sight picture can be challenging, so bear that in mind too. I am pleased with the sights and the company.

I got the HDs and installed using a brass punch. The front sight took some fitting but the rear sight was nice and easy. I'm loving the sight picture and bullet impact is top of front sight so I am happy. Thanks for all the great input.

Rear isn’t as sharp as some people make them out to be.
The P2000 and USP series rear HD sights aren't nearly as sharp as the P30 series rear sights.
That's one reason I choose a P2000SK over the P30SK.

BTW: I think the Night Fision style orange plastic insert front sight rings is the future when it comes to high visibility sights.
Much better than paint once they get it perfected (and narrowed up a bit).
