Mount one on a levergun, post a pic to the Oconee or FPS bookface and watch the world implode.

These will be standard on our issued patrol rifles. They will not go to those who choose to carry a personally owned rifle.

Two years ago, I bought new ARs and rifle rated body armor.

Last year I bought all new G17s (replacing standard issue .40SW) and stopped purchasing anything but 9mm pistol ammo (previously purchased 9/.40.45). Those wishing to carry something other than 9mm are required to buy all of their own duty and training ammo.

This year I bought the optics.

I work in a county that is in the top 10% of economic development in the country, and even I can't accomplish everything in one fell swoop.

I prefer to post about shotguns requiring more thought and skill than a carbine when I want to make the interweb mad.

Awesome work, Chief! It brings a big smile to my face, knowing that at least one county's leadership has a good handle on priorities.

Here's to hoping your deputies never need the rifles, or especially the armor.

Glad to see this, and agree with your priorities.

Do the carbines have mounted lights, or is that farther down the list?

They all have lights donated by a citizen.

It must be nice working for a boss in LE who gets it! Great job taking care of your people!

So...you're actually Santa Claus? Because I've been a pretty good kid this year and I don't want much. Just a few thousand rounds of ammo...and maybe one of those PROs.;)

Nothing about having to use/not use an AK...

We don't currently have any AKs approved as duty rifles, but we do have this:

That could seriously ruin someone's day. Even if they are in a vehicle... behind the vehicle... in a shed behind the vehicle... or hiding in a steel dumpster... or standing on the other side of a buffalo...

Next time you are here for a class, remind me to tell you a story about that particular levergun seeing action.
