Me too. I am perhaps unusual in that I have met nearly as many WW I vets in my childhood as I later knew WW II vets up til now. Most of my rifles have imperial crests or stamps.

I'm currently on the last episode of Dan Carlin's Hardcore History: Blueprint for Armageddon (https://www.dancarlin.com/hh-55/), so this release is perfectly timed! His World War I series has been long but well worth it.

On one hand it looks fascinating, on the other WWI was such an exceptionally shitty war a part of me doesn't want to see it. I'll go if it's in my area I'm sure.

Superb series. It really sucks you in, doesn’t it?

One of the sections that got me was Passchendaele, where “drowning in mud” was not just a figure of speech.

Living and fighting in a fetid stew of mud, rats, corpses and shellfire. Awful. Millions of lives and the lines barely moved for four years.

DVD and Blu Ray now available on Amazon. (https://www.amazon.com/They-Shall-Not-Grow-Blu-ray/dp/B07R76N8NV/ref=sr_1_2?crid=QJBY2N0UKDDU&keywords=they+shall+not+grow+old&pldnSite=1&qid=1558846489&s=gateway&sprefix=they+shall+%2Caps%2C688&sr=8-2)
If you're in North America, make sure you order the NTSC/Region 1 version. Apparently, in this day and age, there are people who get outraged that they order the European version, and post one star reviews because they made a mistake.

(Yes, I posted this in the thread I started, not the Johnny-Come-Lately thread started two months later. Sue me.)

I saw it in theaters. It was pretty stunning visually, (I thought) very honoring to veterans, and generally humbling. I'd recommend it.

Sorry my fault. Usually i do a search before i post something like that. Perhaps if you wanted to the mods could merge the threads. https://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?34408-They-Shall-Not-Grow-Old&p=825608&viewfull=1#post825608

Meh. If they want, sure, but it's been months, not sure there's a point. I was just feeling snarky.

It's available on Amazon Video now. Streamed it this morning. Really something. Easily recommended and I will definitely be re-watching it periodically.

It's only 9.95 to purchase, which I did, it just stays in your online library on Amazon prime.
