Damn.

I saw the post title and was hoping to open it and find pictures of a brand new Bren 10.

Or if loaded, braced AR pistols are legal to drive around with and your registered SBR isn't.

They're more convenient, no argument there. They still look sad though, it's like looking at California compliant ARs.

Blah blah blah, we all know the pros and cons of braces. I'm very much pro-brace with current SBR laws. What do you guys think about the gun?

Still on the fence. My bohemian blood calls to me...

I think it looks like a butchered civilian-ized rifle with that silly brace ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Can't argue that. You'd think with a 14" barrel they'd just pin and weld a flash hider so they could have a real stock. The SBA3 is really good for a brace but it still ain't a stock.

I was interested in the old 805, I think I could live with the reciprocating charging handle and the bolt hold open. But sticking my finger in the trigger guard for anything other than pulling the trigger just isn't a good idea to me.

Not a fan of Garands, M-14/M1A's, or Mini-14's, then?

To be fair I love my Garand but the safety is pretty goofy as hell.

But then I like the VP9 mag release and others hate them so what do I know.

And no one is a fan of mini-14s.

I think it's a $2000 CZ range toy that offers nothing over my $925 Colt Commando pistol.

I want to get a Garand but I didn't plan on buying any of those for a serious role anyway.

I like Mini-14s.

Granted I’ve never owned, shot, or done anything other than held one, but I like them for some dumb reason.

Sure, but we've learned a thing or two since the 1930s.

If you watch the video, the Bren 2 has two different bolt catches. You can use the one in the trigger guard, but if you don't like that system, it also features an AR15 Paddle Catch/Release along the left side of the frame, just like the AR15.

Overall it looks like a cool rifle. I'm curious what the weight savings of the Bren 2 are - originally it was billed as 1lb lighter then the S1.

I’ve actually been considering an 805.

I came back to this thread to see if anyone was saying anything about the Bren 2 carbine.

I have to add that you don't have to use the bolt hold open inside the trigger guard. It still has an AR style bolt release lever on the left side of the gun that can also be used to lock the bolt open the same way you can do it on an AR15. You can completely ignore the bolt hold open inside the trigger guard if you want.

Sure as classic pieces of history, but we've learned a few things in the last half century or so. I like my flintlock longrifle, but I think it has some less than desirable features in a modern context.

Now available as a carbine.

If they offered a 9" 300 Blk it would already be on its way. I liked my 805 but the MS solved all the things I didnt like.
