View Full Version : Glock Training Pistol Options?

I'm looking for a training pistol for holster and other manipulations for my Glock 19 Gen 5.

I thought this would be pretty easy; just go source one from Rings (Blueguns) and order it. But as it turns out, Blueguns is currently only selling Glock training guns to Police, Military, etc,, at least according the announcement on their web site:

http://www.blueguns.com/default.asp?

Not being .leo, I will respect that and not order a gun.

Problem is, I now can't find any decent alternatives, despite looking the last few days. Am I missing something obvious here?

If there are any links ya'll would not mind adding to options, I'd be obliged. The Blueguns pricing was less than $100 for a weighted G19, so I'd like to be at that price point or under.

Thanks a bunch.

Try these guys:

My understanding is the blueguns direct sale policy is due to some type of trademark dispute with Glock.

However they are available on Amazon:

PS - you have an LCR don't you ? https://www.amazon.com/Cold-Steel-92RGRL-Training-Revolver/dp/B00U1IBJ7E/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_236_bs_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=Q2S0P7FNXA9YF78Y4S78

I just ordered one yesterday from Alternate Force myself... And it shipped today. You might check them out too.

My pleasure :) I've ordered from them a few times. Seems like that might be a permanent sale :-D

Nice but a little over budget.

Speaking of blue sims guns, GT Distributors has been selling off PD trade factory SIG 226 blue sims pistols.

Fair. I missed the price point comment. That said, I think there's significant value added having a full weight training tool with a functioning and self resetting trigger. It's worth every penny in my mind.

Funny you should mention the FX Sigs. My dedicated dry fire rig below. Money where my mouth is and all that... ;)

The Bluegun G19.5 arrived. Fit in holster is spot on. It must be an early mold as the front on the frame is not aligned with the slide, just like on my November purchase G19.5.

Very happy with this purchase.

Congrats on finding the Blue.

I’m kinda curious, why wouldn’t you train with the real deal?
Only time I bring out blue trainers is in a classroom for new shooters.

I practice dry fire and holster draw all the time with my G20
I use the LaserLyte cartridge chamber laser.

It will improve your skills 10 fold.

I’m just sayin....

For me, it’s nice having a training tool I don’t have to get out of the safe, or go through the “no live ammo here” routine before use. For example, if I read something interesting about grip or stance I can safely experiment right there in the living room. It can also have a huge benefit in peace of mind if one has children in the house.

It’s not a perfect substitute for the real thing, but it has value. I think a bluegun equivalent of your primary is an excellent investment.
