A local news team got a good samaritan to pull out his Deagle and reenact his heroic moment.

Try as I might, I just can't buy into this "warning shot" biz.

Good job, hero. Now stop pointing that POS at the neighbor's house.

"Is that a Deagle in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

That's it, I'm buying a S&W X-frame .500 magnum.

The Deagle is played out. Maybe I'll go old-school with an Automag!

That's nice that the news broadcasts the mans address for all the public to see.

I promise that if given the chance I'll use my Serbu, then wave it around on tv while wearing my PT.com shirt.

Okay, his choice in a handgun is less than optimal. He was very foolish for letting the local news get him and his house on camera. He didn't handle the robbery situation perfectly. But can we give the guy a little bit of credit for acting, instead of just calling 911 and hiding behind his locked door?

I believe the OP gave credit just by posting the link. However, 'mugging' for the camera with your Deagle riding shotgun to your Johnson and waving your Deagle around like a laser pointer at a power point presentation is not what we want the rest of the world to see as a 'responsible gun owner' defending his neighborhood.

Fair enough. If I lived near this guy, I'd go over and shake his hand. No lecture about the "responsible gun owner" image...

That was classic... "Just like Ray Lewis."
In all seriousness, good on him for looking after his neighbors.

Here we have a screenshot from his interview:

The red arrow denotes a person across the street near the back of an automobile with an open trunk. The red circle is around the hero's DEagle that appears to be pointed directly at Trunkdood. This is not ok.

A very similar case involving a warning shot:
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/02/21/new-hampshire-man-faces-felony-charge-after-firing-gun-into-ground-near-burglar/
Not working out too well for the shooter but maybe the authorities will come to their senses.

That's weak...

EDIT: I retract my original statement. It looks like the guy in question followed the burglar for half-an-hour before firing the warning shots. I would have arrested him too.
