Nope, rolled into work, got out and took the picture. It’s hard when high fashion is your life to not simply exude it...;-). So...where is your pictures of your “Not a Toy” truck?

That is the only time it’s snowed since I’ve owned it, I don’t remember any problems but honestly don’t have enough experience to give an educated opinion.

I’m still running the bfg but am getting close to needing new shoes. I’ve debated the Toyo’s after you and Jackdog but the BFGs have ran well on the Raptor and the Jeep ...

My brother has a ‘17 and lives in KCMO. He actually said it does quite well in snow.

A couple of guys in my office got in pursuit of a stolen 2017 Raptor one night. They said all they heard when they turned on the lights was the engine rev and the truck all but disappeared. They were both driving Tahoes at the time.

They did recover the truck an hour or so later after it had kinda been wrecked/dumped in someone’s front yard. It had been stolen off of a Ford delivery truck at a lot about 35 miles south of us. Had the keys and everything. Even with the slight thrashing the truck had taken it was very nice!

Today, I took the Raptor school at the Ford Performance Center at the Utah Motorsports Complex. Blown away by the quality of the instructors and instruction, and the off road capability of the Raptor. We started in the classroom and then hit the track to practice some concepts.

30990

30991

Then we convoyed out to the off road area we worked today.

30992

Did a bunch of crazy stuff I would never have attempted on my own, in my own truck!

30993

30994

Finished the day with a mini Baja style course.

Drove the Raptor into elk camp in Montana, about a 30 minute drive on a rutted dirt road for most trucks. About 13 minutes in the Raptor. :p

I wish you hadn’t said that!

I spent hours last year getting my heavy cumbersome Dodge 4x4 up a mountain logging road in Idaho. I’m sure the Raptor would’ve ate it up.

I don’t need a 3/4 ton, all I ever haul is gear and guns. But I need a more capable off-road vehicle.

I’m slowly working on the boss lady to get approval.

I rode the roads twice in the outfitter’s big Ram, when we took my bull down to the game processor, and the ride was grueling, uncomfortable, slow and my back actually hurt afterwards. That was creeping along at near walking pace. Between the Raptor’s off road technology and what I learned at Raptor School, I was doing 35 on that same rutted pathway, and it was smooth, fast and in complete control. There are not words that do justice to how much more capable the Raptor was.

I can't understand what 'record' the Raptor holds with respect to 'the' parking lot speed bumps. Did they do a test, or were they just hyperbolically saying it's really good at soaking up bumps?

They actually ran over the speed bumps with the long term test Raptor at that speed. They also run over said speed bumps with every car that they have tested (for the most part). The raptor could take the speed bumps at the highest rate of speed they have found.

I haven’t put the off-road miles on mine but the on road comfort has doubled or tripled my drive time without discomfort. In the previous car my back would start locking up 2-3 hours into a trip. I made the 5 hours to Little Rock for TacCon with no pain.

To equal the hydrocarbon emissions of about a half-hour of yard work with this two-stroke leaf blower, you’d have to drive a Raptor for 3,887 miles, or the distance from Northern Texas to Anchorage, Alaska.

* * * * * * * *

When the Raptor (and the Fiat) was running Phase 2 of its tests on the dyno, it was cleaning the air of hydrocarbons. Yes, there were actually fewer hydrocarbons in the Raptor’s exhaust than in the air it — and we — breathed. In the Raptor’s case, the ambient air contained 2.821 ppm of total hydrocarbons, and the amount of total hydrocarbons coming out the Raptor’s tailpipe measured 2.639 ppm.

So if you want to go green, ditch the yard equipment and blow leaves using a Raptor.

I just want to upgrade my truck’s suspension to raptor like performance and ride without a lift if possible.

Prepared to pay cash for it?
Gas at three dollars a gallon, no issue for your daily commute (parking, etc)?

Definitely all that, and parking especially takes more effort. The flip side is you have a vehicle that drives like a Charger on the highway, a Rubicon off road, and that every guy and most gals swoon over.

Can’t answer any questions about the SC but my 6.2 has 143K+ miles on it and no major issues. Did have to replace the back up camera last week. But it’s 8 years old and I’m expecting some wear and tear issues to come up.

My mechanic says keep the maintenance update and I should get 300K out of the engine.
