I stripped my G19.4 down today after a match to clean it and noticed that my Blacklist Industries barrel has some peening around the locking block areas.

I've got about 2000 rounds through this barrel so far and haven't noticed it losing accuracy or anything, so I'm mostly trying to figure out if this is normal wear for aftermarket barrels like this. It had VERY sharp edges on all the locking block lugs when I first got it, so I'm thinking it may have just been a bit oversized.

And no, I'm not swapping my factory barrel back in, as I do make good use of the threads.

This is pretty common with most aftermarket barrels in Glocks. If you look at your factory Glock barrel, it is beveled in that area to mitigate peening. I suspect if Glock didn't do it on their barrels, you would see peening. I also suspect if aftermarket barrels were beveled in that area, you probably wouldn't see any peening in them.

It typically reaches a certain point then stops. As long as the lug internal flats don't begin to wallow out, it should be fine. I had a barrel do that one time, it was improperly heat treated. Your accuracy will suddenly go to crap, so you will know if it happens..:)
