Off of the top of my head, I can think of two instances where gun-owner-control measures were put to a popular vote. Both times, our side lost.
Colorado: November 07, 2000
A measure to require background checks at gun shows, to close the mythical "gun show loophole"
yes: 70%
no: 30%

Washington (state): November 04, 2014
A measure to require background checks for all gun sales, including private sales ("universal background checks)
yes: 60%
no: 40%

What other gun-owner-control proposals were decided by a ballot referendum rather than a legislative vote? And what was the result?
Thanks.
