So per LAV’s Facebook and Instagram, Glock has released an extended factory 9mm mag holding 24 Rounds.

Apparently it is currently availible in South Africa.

Bet a PF dollar Glock brought it out for the new Ruger carbine.

I wonder how long it will take them to market it in the US.

Is there a specific reason for that number of rounds/mag length?

Perhaps 17 + 7 = 24 + 7 = 31 add floor plate +2 = 33

So this is midway between standard 17 rd mag and 31 round mag +floorplate = 33. Intermediate option?

Sounds reasonable. Glock has sold a 21 or 22 round .40 cal mag of similar for a while now.

If I were to guess, this mag is probably the same length as their 22 round magazine.

It would be cool if they made one to fit the USPSA mag gauge. I mean, the DID make a gun the fit the USPSA “box”.

Doesn't really add any info but FWIW:

https://eu.glock.com/en/products/glock-magazines/mag_24rd

I think Bucky and HCM are on the money that it will be the same length as the 22rd .40. That eu.glock site also shows factory assembled G17 and G19 +2s, which seems like a no-brainer but I don't recall seeing them in the States. Drifting further off topic, but they apparently also have their polymer single mag pouch in G42 and G43 variants (edited to add: old news but new to me--I see them available at a few sites, may pick one up for 43).

My first thought was that it was the longest they could make it and still fit the gauge for competition use.

That would have been nice, but highly doubtful.

How do yall like my 19X :)

Theyre the same length as the 22 round 40 mag. Which was apparently designed at the behest of an end user.

ps assembled +2 mags for 9/40/357 guns have been available for ever

These predate the ruger carbine I snuck a peek of these a year ago at the factory. But could not comment on pain of pain

I like this size (apparently similar to the .40). Nice intermediate between the 17 and the 31(33). I'd love to have a dozen or 3 of these.

The info I've been able to find is that the 22-round .40S&W mag is ~160mm long.

I have one, I could measure it. I know it doesn’t even come close to squeezing into my mag gauge.

Limited or Open gauge?

Rough meauserment had it around 160 odd mm for me.

As a non-competitor, I'm sure I can live without these as long as I have 19/17 mags for carry, and 33 rounders for my Glock carbine (which I don't have yet...)

Of course this comes out right after Vermont introduces a 15rnd mag limit... I really need to get out of this state...

It's hard to believe this happened in the first constitutional carry state. :(

Not that hard to believe if you live here. The writing's been on the wall for a long time, people have just been ignoring it. Now that the floodgates are open, I really think that's just a starting point.

On topic, I wonder what the length is on these vs. a magpul 21rnd mag. Those really hit a sweet spot in length for me.

They are a little longer than the magpul 21 rounder. About 20mm's or so I think. If I knew how to post pictures I would.

Glock USA LE & civilian sales reps went to the mothership in Austria last year and saw these.

First question was, “Why don’t we have these?”

Reply from the Austrians was, “I don’t know.”

And yes, they are exactly the same length as the 22 round .40 caliber mags.

I'd ask the same thing about the factory plus 2s (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong about availability in US)

I dislike messing with the glock mags enough that I'd rather buy the configuration I want out of the box.

You can get the +2 extensions directly from Glock; I just ordered a bunch from them a couple weeks ago.

I didn’t see this posted anywhere else. The 24rd mags are showing up on sites now as well as factory mags in OD and the 33rd mags are available in FDE and OD.
