The very concept gives me the giggles.

This one has my interest. The 2k price point is a little much.

Rock River producing a gun that has known issues...

They are really setting themselves up for success. :D:D:D:D

Rock River conventional 1911s were good stuff at quite possibly best price point for a quality 1911. In fact, they got out of 1911 business with an explanation that it wasn't as cost-effective for them as ARs. I regret not getting one of their 1911 when you could a full-featured, competently assembled 1911 with excellent frame and slide and quality small parts for $1500-1700.
Don't know about the plastic stuff though, we'll have to see.

Rock River started out making the 1911 and later begin production of the AR. They made a very solid 1911 but their AR has been questionable. I missed out on buying a custom built 1911 when they first started out in the late 90's, bought a Kimber instead for a few dollars less. The Kimber turned out to be a good gun but the RR would have been a better purchase that would have appreciated far more than the Kimber did.

The price tag on this new 1911 has me skeptical. Time will tell and I don't want to start any Internet rumors but I don't think this gun is made by Rock River. It really looks like something they are putting their name on.
