In the next few months I'm going to make a large purchase for bullets, maybe a 2 year supply....

Do you know of any shops, like MG or X-Treme, that would offer discounts above what's advertised on their sites?

Depends on the size of the purchase.

How many bullets were you thinking about? I might be interested in ordering a few bullets myself...

I know Precision Delta for large bulk orders does $4 off per K and free ship, not sure if they will give you dealer pricing at that amount but worth a shot.

If you end up buying montana gold contact manny bragg first. I know he gets a little better discount on 6 cases than MG gives on their own. Not sure what he'd do on 50K.

With a purchase that big, I would ask about getting distributor pricing. You would be amazed at the companies that I deal with that will offer wholesale or distributor pricing on very small qty's.

Some will require a Business License, but I am sure that you will be able to find some help on that ;). If they are willing to give you the pricing, all you need to do is find someone with a Small Bus., have them order it for you, and ship it to your address.

The last time I check with Manny, he charged shipping, and MG (direct) did not. For my last purchase, of 12K, dealing with MG directly ended up being cheaper.

I did with one, the discount was significant!

If someone wanted to put together a "group buy" I'd probably buy some bullets and I am also a (very) small business with appropriate licenses.

Just a thought, Ive bought quite a few bullets and I would Much rather spend a little bit more per Thousand than have sup-par bullets. Ive had less than stellar performance out of some of the plated bullets, there fine for Bill Drills and such but not for long range or precise targets.

Which plated bullets do you prefer?

I just realized that Xtreme is the old West Coast Bullet ... which has very mixed reviews.

I use Berry's plated 124gr RN with good results..... I would be interested in a group buy....

It's a good idea, but I'm not interested in coordinating a group buy.

After coordinating a group rifle purchase, I can say with a lot of certainty that there is no way you could pay me enough to coordinate a group buy for anything.

Exactly. I've done a few over the years, some for custom rifle actions, and it's not worth my time/effort.

Im really only running Montana Gold now. the extra $ per thousand is just not enough to bother me when the quality is so much better.

MG isn't interested in discounts, even for an order of 50K. I replied and asked if 75K or 100K would do it ... we'll see.

Weak.

They do seem to be very popular, and about the best there is for the price, though, and I guess they can afford not to.
