This was inspired by the .45 at 45 (https://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?28868-45-at-45&p=683134#post683134) thread. Because I have an enthusiasm for guns that borders on the unhealthy, I though it would be fun to buy a gun that corresponds to my birthday for the rest of my life. And why not apply it retroactively too? (remember, borderline unhealthy) Hey, maybe if I ever have kids I'll do this for them so I can hand the guns over when they become of age. Any excuse to buy guns, right?

So I thought it might be fun to brainstorm some guns that would correspond with birthdays. I'm 34 now so I guess next year will be a Marlin 336 in .35 Remington and the year after that I'll get into black powder with a .36 Navy model cap-and-ball revolver. Nice thing is there's usually a S&W or Glock to correspond to a year if there's nothing more interesting.

1. Ruger No. 1
2. Double barrel shotgun?
3. S&W model 3
4.
5.
6. A six-shooter?
7. 7mm mauser
8. Remington Model 8
9. 9mm
10. 10mm
11. Remington model 11
12. 12 gauge
13. S&W 13
14. S&W 14
15. AR15
16. 16 gauge
17. .17HMR
18. Glock 18 hopefully
19. S&W or Glock 19
20. 20 gauge shotgun
21. Winchester 21
22. .22
23. Winchester 23
24. Glock 24
25. .25acp

A few gaps in there and most everything after 25 is going to be a S&W or Glock for the most part. What would your list look like?

I thought about an Auto 5, still better than anything I can think of, but I was planning on finding a beater Remington 11 for a pseudo whippet gun project. I guess there's already a bunch of redundancy. Not sure about the .444. Oh, I could get a Ruger MK IV instead.

I could fill several of those spots with S&Ws, like 15, 16 17, 18, 20, 21, 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 39, 48, 52, and a few that arent coming to mind. You could also find guns made in those years of the 1900s, or those years of your life, but theres not many recent ones that appeal to me so much.

The Smith 25s are also called the 1955 target, 6 1/2" 45 acp revolver, or a 25-5 45 Colt.

Could also do M1, M4, a 33 cal 1886, 30 cal 94.

It’s a little risque for a 5-year-old, but: H&K MP5

How the hell did I forget that one?

Love to see the vault you'll keep them all in. ;)

Ideally there will be a large shop with a vault in one corner that doubles as a living room with two swivel chairs and a tv on one wall. Everything else is just out in the shop. Kitchen, shower, bed, reloading bench, trucks and lift, everything. I'll probably meet some chick and that'll all go to crap but one way or another a vault is necessary.

Make 24 interesting with 7.92x24. You'll probably have to wildcat it yourself, but it should be fun and interesting.

Come to think of it, I believe I was 17 when I got my first Glock 17.

Here are my refinements and additions to the list.

12 - Winchester Model 12 (pump, 12 gauge)
16 - Browning Sweet 16 (autoloader, 16 gauge)
37 - Ithaca 37 (pump, 12 gauge)
58 - VZ 58
74 - AK-74
75 - CZ-75
85 - Beretta .380
87 - Remington 870 (You can always use another 870 for something.)
91 - Mauser (bolt)
92 - Winchester (lever) (I already have a Beretta 92.)
94 - Winchester (lever)
95 - Mauser (bolt)
96 - Mauser (bolt)
97 - Winchester (pump, 12 gauge)
98 - Mauser (bolt)
99 - Savage Model 99 (lever)
100 - Ruger GP-100

Looks like I'll never get a Colt 6920.

I will. That's a much better choice.

I'll just default to a S&W revolver if I can't think of anything else and the Glocks, well Glocks just aren't for commemorating stuff.
