I havent posted / read for sometime. I really wasnt really ever a heavy poster, mostly lurking and absorbing off you gunhands.
Around march of this year I started twitching everywhere, muscle spasms, couldnt stop it and it only got worse.
Saw a neuro in June and he told me I needed to see an ALS specialist in Dallas and diagnosed me with ALS pending tests. To see that on my AVS...
Shit. Sent me into a dark spiral. Im 38, was looking forward to next ECQC course and feeling stronger than ever...bad juju. I tried to keep dry firing but the fear took me over which made all symptoms worse.
Long story short, another Neuro completely cleared me after nerve and EMG studies in AUG. - DX was changed to BFCS (benign fasciculation cramping syndrome) Some lame ass random thing can start out of nowhere and mimic ALS.

SO... im lifting again, have a lust for life, shooting, got into mining and trading crypto which is a fun, crazy and profitable side hustle and just wanted to thank the PF community for content that continues to inspire, challenge, make new and make me think about protecting myself, my loved ones, and those around me.

I hope to have something to offer getting back into the swing of things and look forward to 2018. Sorry I missed festivus - cheers and happy holidays! - matt

My MIL died of ALS. Not good. That’s a hell of a thing to face and dodge. I bet you do have a zest for life now. Go out and do it all.

What a roller-coaster!

Scary moments tend to bring clarity. It's a gift while it lasts. Reimbursement for the scare, maybe.

Congrats!

Live each day as if it's your last, don't waste today waiting for tomorrow.

Glad to hear you dodged that bullet - welcome back!

Glad to hear the better diagnosis. A brother-in-law (and college buddy) is dealing with ALS, and it is *not* for the faint of heart.

I "liked" your post because I totally agree, and sympathize... not because I actually liked it. That scene is very messed up.

OP, glad to have you back. Better yet, great that you don’t have ALS.

For those unfamiliar with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is is a progressive, degenerative disease that affects motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. It’s victims loose the ability to move, then speak, and finally breath while being aware and awake in most cases (50% have cognitive effects). It is universally fatal and one of those conditions that challenges our ethics on topics like assisted suicide and euthanasia.
