I bought a cheap Glock 43 this weekend that somebody krylon painted the frame light blue and the slide silver. A local company is going to clean it up and cerakote it for me. I read that you need to remove the channel liner and replace it after the cerakote process. I can't seem to find a part number or a definitive answer if the 43 has a channel liner.

I'm no PensFan :) but no they don't have channel liners.

You still mustn't lubricate the channel though.

I asked PensFan that when they released. Yes, they do have channel liners.

42's and 43's don't have them, simply because there not enough room for them. The spring cups wear down a bit but then stop. The original gen 1 17's didn't have them either.

Okay, I'm in the mood to learn. What's a channel liner? I assume a liner for the striker channel? What purpose does it serve?

Plastic tube lining the inside of the striker channel. Doesn't come out when you pull the striker assembly; most will never even know it's there. First clue I had myself (sad to say) is when I was playing that gun dissasmbly video game app that someone posted here a while back, and I was "WTF is that?" I had to research it, then freaked out because none of my Glocks had one. Except the 26 and 17. It's actually in there, turns out they do have them, and I never knew it. Just keeps the striker/spring from smacking around inside the channel and wearing. I'm sure the guns would run fine without them.

Don't have to watch the whole thing; first bit will do:

Most amateur cerakote commandos find out about the channel liner the hard way.
