I received an email from Vet Verify (dot org) saying that the Army Air Force Exchange System (AAFES) is going to be open online to veterans soon. I did some googling and found this: https://www.vetverify.org/form.xhtml Their site also lists Navy and Marines, so the NEX/MCX may be included (they could be run by the same folks as AAFES for all I know).

My concern is that my email provider put the email in spam and it's pretty good at weeding out the crap from legitimate emails. Has anyone used this or can otherwise vouch for Vet Verify? They only ask for the last four of your SSN, but I've grown skeptical and untrusting over the years. lol!

Thanks!

Looks like a data mining site to me.

If AAFES were doing something like this, youd hear about it from them directly or the VA.

It's legit.

I cannot say about Vet Verify from personal experience.

I do know guys who have been singing up for the veteran's exchange benefit; based on the VetVerify.org - About (https://www.vetverify.org/about.xhtml) I ass-you-me they're using this.

Of course, it's easy for an organization to claim all kinds of legitimacy...

I do know that AAFES/NEX/MCX are, or are soon going to be, available online to honorably discharged veterans. (I'm not positive as to whether that means "honorable discharge" or "honorable or good conduct" discharge.) I wasn't sure how far along they were in offering the benefit.
EDIT: Read the link Palmguy posted (Veterans can register now for chance at early access to online military exchange shopping (https://www.militarytimes.com/pay-benefits/military-benefits/2017/06/05/veterans-can-register-now-for-chance-at-early-access-to-online-military-exchange-shopping/)), looks legit but understandable that your provider would have doubts.

Also, going to the Shop Army & Air Force Exchange Service (https://www.shopmyexchange.com/) page, clicking on the Veteran's Online Shopping Benefit link takes you this page: Veterans Online Shopping Benefits | Shop the Exchange (https://www.shopmyexchange.com/veterans), where it says

The first step is check your eligibility. Go to VetVerify.org and submit your verification form today.
