This is the officer who was shot and killed when he responded to a traffic crash. The driver was entrapped in the vehicle. The officer crawled into the vehicle with his med kit to start trying to render aid and was shot multiple times by the driver who he was trying to save.

Southport PD is a very small department and is almost all reserve officers (meaning unpaid).

Here is a description of his role in the incident from https://inharmswayblog.com/2018/10/3...ough-the-door/

“He was the first one through the door the day of the shooting. He was shot several times. His body armor and Kevlar helmet saved his life. His body armor took several rifle rounds to the chest/abdominal area and his Kevlar helmet took the rifle round to the head. Additionally, he took several hits to the legs and arms. He is still currently in another surgery and will have many surgeries in the coming months. He is expected to survive his injuries but there is a significant likelihood that he will never return to work.”

Please share and consider a donation.

DEA Task Force Officer Jorge R. Del Rio was a Dayton Police Officer, husband, father, and beloved friend to all. He served on the Dayton Police Department for 30 years. As a member of the Dayton Police Department, Jorge served as a Task Force Officer assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration - Dayton Resident Office for 19 years. Jorge was a member of an entry team executing a federal narcotics search warrant at a residence where he was shot twice, once in the head, eventually succumbing to his injuries. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of multi-kilogram quantities of cocaine and fentanyl, money and multiple firearms.

Jorge was raised in Chicago, IL as an only child. Jorge eventually moved to Dayton, OH where he met the love of his life. They created a life for themselves which included raising five beautiful girls. Jorge was known to be a devoted family man and always supported his daughters in their endeavors.

Jorge played an enormous part in all of our lives. Jorge taught us how to embrace life, how to enjoy every moment given to us, how to love and most importantly to laugh. To put it poignantly, Jorge was a rock star and superhero. His laugh was as contagious as his smile.

Although Jorge’s contributions to protecting the citizens of his community, the state and this country cannot be quantified. Jorge’s commitment to fighting drug trafficking was unmatched and never wavered in his fight for justice. Jorge’s efforts are responsible for saving hundreds of lives. Jorge was exceedingly generous throughout his life and made extraordinary sacrifices to do what he believed in and what he loved. Jorge’s kindness and love extended beyond his death as evident by his final act of kindness by giving others the opportunity of life by donating his organs. Jorge will be greatly missed by all of his family, friends, law enforcement family and the community that he gave his life to protect. He will never be forgotten.

100% of proceeds will go to the wife and family of Detective Jorge Del Rio.

On June 13, 2020 Fort Worth Police Officer Matthew Brazeal was severely injured in the line of duty when he was intentionally struck by a fleeing vehicle traveling at highway speed. Officer Brazeal sustained life-threatening injuries and has undergone extensive surgeries over the past two days in order to stabilize his condition.

Officer Brazeal is a veteran of the United States Army, where he proudly served his country as an infantryman. He is a three year veteran of the Fort Worth Police Department and previously served the citizens of Parker County and Weatherford as a law enforcement officer. Officer Brazeal is a true American hero, who has dedicated his life to serving others.

Officer Brazeal has a remarkable family. It is heartbreaking that they cannot all be by his side as he battles through surgeries, due to COVID-19 restrictions. It is important now, more than ever that we show our law enforcement officers that we have their backs and that we support them.

Officer Brazeal is facing a very long road to recovery and many in our community have asked how to donate to assist him. Donations can be made to Assist the Officer Fort Worth in Officer Brazeal’s name at https://atofortworth.org/make-a-donation. Donations can also be made on this Facebook post using the donation link.

We ask that you please keep Officer Brazeal, his family, and all of his teammates in your thoughts and prayers. We also ask that you continue to pray for our city, our state, and our nation.

Assist The Officer - Fort Worth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and donations may be tax deductible.

He was dispatched to a male on the morning of July 4th, When he arrived on seen at the Home Depot on Alexis rd, There was a intoxicated male that was not cooperating, That’s when the male started to walk to his trunk, Digging around when Officer Dia asked him to step away from the trunk and come out, The man then fired a single shot while running away, Striking Officer Dia in the chest area. Trooper Dean Atkinson Jr., 27, was shot and wounded Thursday evening, Sept. 22, in Walla Walla. It's where he grew up. People here know him well.

So well that one of his high school coaches wasn't surprised Atkinson drove himself to the hospital after being shot in the face.

After being flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, he was listed Saturday in stable condition.
