I recently bought a Quark X AA2 Tactical (pre-Christmas sale!) as an upgrade to one of my old Fenix lights. I use a flashlight almost daily in my paid and volunteer jobs and like to run all my lights with the AA Eneloop rechargeable batteries. I've been using the open-topped Fenix holsters for years with no problems.

So far I'm impressed with the Quark. Feels very solid. The beam is wide and soft with a lot of spill -- it's not a long range spotter, but very useful for everyday tasks.

The difference between the "Tactical" and the regular Quarks is the user interface -- there's no cycling through brightness levels on the "Tactical". I've chosen to use the High instead of the Max setting for the extra runtime, but the Max is very impressive for a 2AA light.
