Reality Winner? I suppose her name is prophetic. Federal prison is as real as it gets.

Make all the defenses you want, she's going to be made an example of.

She's fucking done and it was not worth it. All of those anti whistleblower provisions that Obama put into place are gonna hit her hard. The liberal media will lionize her unlike that Snowden fellow that they forgot about.

So basically she exposed what was already common knowledge. Nice.

Imagine if she exposed our efforts to subvert and spy upon other governments. Oh wait, that's OK.

I think the difference is tenure at UC Berkeley, vs tenure at Cal State Long Beach.

"The affidavit sworn by FBI agent Justin Garrick said that she had previously served in the Air Force and held a top-secret security clearance."

I imagine there's an FBI agent cleaning his desk out right now.

There's a lot of top secret clearances floating around. I'd be curious just how many. Not everyone that had one was what I'd consider a genius or a patriot judging by the many I was in regular contact with while still employed by uncle.

I doubt that an FBI agent was tasked with her investigation.

Those are contracted out same as the intel jobs whose candidates they're investigating. It's third parties all the way down.

Now that he's not in gov he should be investigated for that particular crime.

If CNN can sell a box of cornflakes by portraying her as a Freedom Fighter, they will.

/sarcasm

I think they should let her off; I mean, I'm sure she did not intend to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, even though perhaps there is evidence that she was extremely careless in her handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.

You are misunderstanding. The FBI Agent is the affiant on the arrest warrant and part of the team investigating the leak, not the leakers background investigator.

The office of personnel management (OPM) does security clearance investigations for GOV contractors in conjunction with the particular agency's security office.

Most likely she was hired by the contactor specifically because she already had a clearance from her USAF service.

Here's an interesting take on this from judge Napolitano:

Judge Nap Doesn't Think NSA Contractor Who Leaked Russia Report Is a Traitor (http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/06/06/judge-napolitano-nsa-contractor-leaking-top-secret-report-russian-hacking)

ETA: Also includes a brief commentary on the 'travel ban' case.

I stand corrected,thanks!
