Is a police trade in 92fs a good option for someone's first 92?

I'm really tempted just as an "occasional plinkler example for the colllection" kind of thing.

I'm sure these will sell as Beretta inventory seems temporarily depressed due to the new factory production still spooling up...but it wasn't too long ago that you could get a new M9 for under $500.

Seems like every time I'm broke the stuff I'm hunting for goes on sale and when I'm flush I can't hardly find any deals. I would love to snag both a 226 and a 92fs.

At those prices, they would be good for a first, second, third, eighth, twentieth or whatever 92.

Well, too bad for me. I was going to get a Sig but they're already gone.

Quite sure Sportsman Outdoor Superstore has LEO 226's in 9mm for sale for about the same.

edit: Are deal links on guns acceptable to post in the handgun threads?

Shit...Ok so here's the deal then...if they're still in stock by the time my shifts up then it's God's will that I own another Beretta :D

Tempting...

The sleeper in that lot are the CZ83s; especially with the original rounded triggerguards. While they excel in 9X18 Makarov chambering (concurrently with a polygonal-rifled barrel), they're exceptionally nice also in .380, albeit with conventional lands-and-grooves barrels.

One of the best in their genre-accurate and with superb triggerpulls, and the capability of being both DA/SA or cocked-and-locked. A bit large for what they are, and also terminally overshadowed by a Glock 19, but still an interesting, durable and reliable pistol.

Best, Jon

I like the Inox finish on the Vertec and Brigadier, but the stainless front sight on the standard model isn't my favorite.

If you get an all-silver small parts version, I'd strongly recommend getting the carbon steel extractor and installing it for normal use; the stainless extractor has not been noted for longevity or durability, something one or too other manufacturers have discovered along the way. Keep the OEM silver part, but use the carbon steel one.

That was the reason Beretta switched back to the carbon steel blue/black component of later-production Inoxs.

Welllll....I decided a backup Beretta 92 was needed and the price wouldn't really be better.

Thanks a lot OP...dick. :D
