View Full Version : Wall mounts for rifle/pistol/shotgun??

What are the options out there for wall mounted storage? I considered peg board stuff, but I'd prefer something a little less industrial looking. I'm planning on doing a couple of shelves with pistol racks for the little fella's, and I only have about 20-25 to concern myself with, so that's not much of an issue. Mostly concerned with how to stack and organize the long guns with their variety of odd sizes, optics, and sheer numbers.
Just looking for options and ideas.
I'll obviously post a finished product pic in the Obligatory Show Off thread once I'm done.
Thanks.

Saw this recently and it seemed like a pretty slick system:

Cool idea. Not the most efficient use of space, which may become an issue. Neat idea though.

This doesn't exactly get away from peg board but I saw a post on arf of a guy using Gallow Technologies gun walls (http://www.gallowtech.com/). The look extremely customizable.

Looking to display or to conceal?
Display: MODWall | Tactical Walls | Home Defense Concealment Systems (https://tacticalwalls.com/product-category/modwall/)
Conceal: Concealment Covers | Tactical Walls | Home Defense Concealment Systems (https://tacticalwalls.com/product-category/concealment-covers/) or Concealment Shelves | Tactical Walls | Home Defense Concealment Systems (https://tacticalwalls.com/product-category/shelves/), among others.

Thanks for the inputs.
The stuff you guys linked to was actually what I was considering, but didn't want the peg board. Still, this isn't your daddy's pet board either, and I think I can make that work. Mostly I like that the long guns can be in racks and not taking up so much space as if they are displayed. Even with an entire room, I'll run short on space quickly, and I'm sure something I want in there will have to go somewhere else no matter what I do.
Of course I'll post pics of the ultimate gun storage, ammo making, ammo storage, precious metals vault once I finally figure out which room in the house to transform, and obviously after the wife grants her permission and access to the funds to make it happen.
Thanks again. Keep em coming!

Are you planning on reinforcing the door to this room or whats the plan? Is it industrial or potentially display as well? There are a wide variety of glass cabinets to display, we sometimes forget that, as an option as well.
I really like the look of the Tactical Walls MOD Walls versus more traditional peg board.
Perhaps a custom cabinet maker could also provide some built in options though they'd most likely not be reconfigurable down the road if needed.

Sean, there is a great example from Sully over on M4C in one of the AR picture threads. I'll try to dig it up later tonight after I tuck the family in.

Sean, when my buddy built his gun room - he used Ikea base cabinets (with glass windowed doors and interior lights) for pistol storage and additional misc. storage, along 3-walls. And on top of the cabinets went with CMP-style rifle racks (http://thecmp.org/training-tech/armorers-corner/rifle-racks/) - This provided him plenty of storage at a reasonable height, basically per double cabinet he could get 10-12 long guns if he stacked into every slot. Spaced out it made for a nice, neat arrangement. If you have a number of short guns (or all short guns), just shorten the height of the rack relative to what you want, since CMP builds their's for holding M1 Garands.
I don't recall the exact dimensions of his room, but I'm guessing it was about 10x15 or 12x15 or so.

Been pretty happy with these in our gun room, of course you need the space to make them work.
